Its been really dry here and winter, I'd say, is pretty much over.  We need to have a jam.  Maybe one in march?  Would that work out for the The Movement?

I'd even go as far as hosting one here.

Im not so sure winters quite over, I think we still may have some heaps coming our way. But who knows. Our (NMC(Where most of The Movement go)) spring break is Monday-Sunday, 3/27/06-4/2/06 so I think some time in there would be good. Im open to ideas for locations, but it'll probly end up being here in TC or back there in PH because the Mt. Pleasant scene seems to be rather dead.

My friend and i were contemplating the idea of going down to chicago for spring break, and from what i've seen in past visits, chicago would not be a bad place get a little freerunning in.

Heh, I was just down there doing some freerunning last weekend, and yeah it's great for it! There's also the very sizable and active crew, PK Aero who you could hook up with. I think we should still have a michigan jam somewhere a little closer. BTW, welcome! Hope you and your friends stick with it!

So...why not a tenative date during a weekend on these dates?

Sure, I'm available all those days, as long as I know far enough in advance (2 weeks) to get them off work.
Post what days around that time period would work for you, or don't work, whichever data set is smaller.

Hey
This is Ken, the new guy from TC that went to the Toronto jam over the summer. (the one without the 4 foot dreads, if he was new) Anyways, I had a great time and've been itching to get out again, my spring break is at the end of february to 3/3, just to throw my availability into the ring. woosh!(sorry, way too much caffeine, note the time of this post)

A more important question would be, "How many days is this going to be spread over?"  Are we going with the Michigan Traditional 3 day jam or what?  If that's the case, I would recommend 3/31 through 3/2.

Ok, I just "realized" that I'm also planning a chicago trip during my spring break. I don't know yet if it'll be a few days or a whole week, so that weekend (3-31 to 4-2) may not work, but Ill have to get back on that. Plus, there is some concern that there may be snow still hanging around at that time, so I was thinking push it another weekend or two. So how do A:[4-7 to 4-9] or B:[4-14 to 4-16] or C:[4-21 to 4-23] work? I noticed that "A" lines up with Smilez, as long as he's not in chicago at that time also. "B" seems to work into michiganparkour's break. Theoretically I can do any weekend because I can request it off work.
- I know we've had it in Port Huron a few times, and Nem's probably tired of hosting, but it looks like a really central location with a lot of know PK locations so would it be asking to much to have again there?
-3 days sounds fine, we're usually too wiped out afterward for any more days anyways.

So, A or B or C or Other(state date)?
Port Huron or Other(state location)?
3 days or Other (state length)?

EDIT: Was reminded that 4-16 is Easter in case that creates a problem with anyone.

Hey guys...

I know I've not posted much here in the past... three months. The last I posted was in general talk forum, about my grandmother being ill in the hospital.

...She passed on the 26th of November. I've taken my time for grieving over the holidays.

I'm ready to get back active, and I'm hitting up the gym now regularly, to get into better shape-- hopefully close to where I was at the end of the summer, when I worked in the ice plant.

If we have a jam in April, I can do it on the weekends of the 31-2, 14-16, and 28-30 no problems -- meaning, no work. Most likely not the 28-30, though, as exams are the following week o_0;;

The other two weekends -- the 7-9 and 21-23 -- I work at a University-run snack store. However, seeing as this is four months in advance, I can most likely request the days I work off, so long as I know relatively soon what weekend it is going to be.

In regards to the mount pleasant scene -- yes, it has relatively died. However, I am spreading the word of Parkour on campus, and so far I've gotten at least five people interested. I am going to figure out who instructs the introduction to gymnastics class and see if they would mind sponsoring Parkour as an RSO (Registered Student Organization)... If I can pull it off, then CMU will be the first college with an officially sanctioned PK group, as far as I know. I will also be trying to push for access to our university's gymnastic equipment, if this all falls into place... wish me luck with that.

But yes, I am definately interested in getting together with all you fine chaps again and flowin'. I also was wondering if I could take charge of the video duties this time around, for part of the jam... I'd like to have someone local do camera for me, but I would like to get interviews with some of the traceurs participating -- just general, quick things. Who are you, where are you from, why do you do parkour... I would like to make this the best PK:MI video yet. Not to mention it wouldn't look bad in my portfolio (heck, I -am- a film student, after all!)...

-See you soon, hopefully...

Cool, good to hear from you again Xero! Im glad you're getting back into and being so active there in CMU. BTW, my sister goes there so if she sees you doing PK and goes crazy, it's ok. As far as im concerned the video duties can be all yours, but Im sure there'll be several cameras. Also, there's another guy (Cogent) in Mt Pleasant who posted in the intro thread (1st page) so you should try to contact him. Here's his user info; http://www.americanparkour.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=693
See you soon!

Choice "A" for dates would work for me as SkyNative said earlier but, if it falls on any other dates it would be ok by me, i would just have to try harder to fit it into my schedule thats all. As for the CMU thing, i think it sounds great. Working to get at PK team at CMU is saweet. Props to you Xero!(i was accepted to cmu for college, but am still undecided. a pk team at college would be pretty cool). In regards to the filming and stuff, Xero, go for it. It would be really great for someone to make a really good MIPK video. If it works out i wuld want to see it as i am also interested in film and stuff ;)

Thanks for the support, guys... it means a lot, really. Sky, yeah-- checked his user info and I already know him through campus... lol... I found him originally through facebook as I created a PK group on there a while back. We've only gone out jamming once together... I should get back at him soon...

But yeah. I'm going out right now to the gym to work out... most of the students here on Thursday nights go to O'Kelly's / The Wayside pub-and-club... lol...

EDIT: Smilez: I know college is your own choice, man, and I won't have any grudges if you go somewhere else... but let me say that from my personal experience, CMU campus is beautiful... could be better for Parkour at times, but... whatev. And the people are crazy nice here. If you want any more info, just ask here or on AIM -- xerocalibur -- and I'd be happy to talk.
