Let me put it better i'd rather have the right equitment/shoes that i know are going to be reliable pk shoes for me to session in.And as for features you forgot about the the shoe's longevity, durability, and breathability, just a heads up for ya.

Any decent running shoe will do really, just buy yourself some cheap running shoes and get started. I wouldn't recommend shox though because of the whole they weigh a fair bit and the shock things are on the heel when you're wanting to be using the balls of your feet and avoiding landing on your heels anyways.

Yeah but thay won't affect me negativley, the shock absorbers in the heel will stil take up some shock ( Just look at the ariakes they have absorbers in the heel and some say they are the best free running/parkour shoe.).And they're comfortable and i heard grip pretty well so they should be a good starter shoe.Like you said any decent runing shoe will do. Thanks i think i've made my decision.

Hey guys, I'm from Western PA, I've only been doing Parkour for about two or three months, but I've been conditioning for over a year.  I have my own small group of friends who all do Parkour, but we're all total noobs to the art.  And I hate the security guards, they kick us off all the greatest hotspots around here.

Welcome!
Many times security is just doing their job, don't hate -- we're not about that here. For the most part, we come off as a liability -- other times they're just puffing out their rent-a-cop chests looking for something to do :P

Hey guys I'm Christian, or Xian for short. Ive already kinda started posting around, so yeah ^_^

I live in Colorado, and train with Demon (Ryan), COPK, and the Hybrid crew. I've been into PK for roughly 2 and a half years but only been dedicated to training for about 8 months.

p.s. Hope to see all you traceurs at the COPK National Jam, its gonna be sick! Now go train. Haha xD

Hey im Jack, im 14 and from Wisconsin in the states. After watching Xin the Urban Ninja on Youtube i decided to get into freerunning. Ive done halfhearted attempts at similar things, but im looking forward to getting a little more structured with it.

Hey everyone,
My name is david, and I just started parkour about a month ago.  I found this site about a week ago because I wanted more structure in my training instead of just copying what I see in youtube videos (to see how that went, check out the injury report forum).  I also love bicycling, hiking, and tree climbing.  I live in STL, but will be moving to kansas city, MO for med school in august.

Heya there, the name's Damon and I'm fairly new to this. I found a link to a parkour video on another forum I frequent, and the people there were in awe of the sport. I watched the video they were all responding to (veoh.com/videos/v1428892dYMC2Pwp?searchId=841692739226631684&rank=67l) and I thought to myself... "I can do some of that."

So I started looking around the web for more info on Parkour and found this place. Good stuff. Anyways, I got motivated to go outside and try some of it out. I'm a XC/Track runner so I'm fairly in-shape, and I've always enjoyed doing things like this. I did a handspring just to make sure I could still... move? And then a front-flip. I decided to go for a back-flip, and that was a mistake (ouch..neck..bad idea.). I'm going to start following some of the tutorials on the site, and maybe I'll give it another attempt in a month. I /used/ to be able to do it... but that was a year ago when I had a trampoline and the whole nine yards.

I'm from Washington, Everett area to be more specific. Anyways, figured I'd sign up here and see what I could learn. Thanks.
