Most unlikely videogame based movie.
« on: November 15, 2007, 06:13:38 AM »
Most movies based on videogames are pretty cool ideas. whether they end up sucking hardcore. Either way peoples hopes and anticipation is high when they originally hear of it being in production. Ive recently discovered of a new videogame based movie which may have different effects. According to IMDB.com, there is currently a new videogame based movie planned. And the game its based on you ask, is the sims. What in the world? What are your oppinions on this? Do you think it will be good? And can you think of any other games youd have at the end of your list of possible games to have movies made?

I can see splinter cell, rainbow six, any TC game in a movie,

The sims movie is going to be like DoA movie, suckage suckage suckage

And I have say that I haven't seen one good movie made from a video game. Doom was horrible, hitman looks bad and the upcoming Halo movie is just going to be a bunch of hype with no substance.

Did perpetual happiness in the Garden of Eden maybe get so boring that eating the apple was justified?”

Hilltops right alot of game movie suck.
Hitman.. ehhh.... I expected an older actor playing the part. with a larger head. realism is a big one for me.
Havent seen Doom yet, I got it coming on Netflix just to see what everyone is crazy about.

and I really dont think I wanna see the halo movie.

I think Pokemon Snap would make a pretty shitty movie. ;)

Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, DiabloII would be pretty crappy, too. Who wants to watch someone stand in a doorway, killing enemies for hours on end. ;)

Hitman looks cool to me idk.

Diablo II would make an awesome video game I think. I have also heard that World of Warcraft has signed the rights to a movie that will be put into production.

I thought that the Halo movie was on hold indefinatly.

Pokemon snap was an awesome game, but would be a terrible movie.

I think they could make any Zelda game into a great movie.
But the worst they could possibly do is a Mario movie. Oh wait.....

I think Devil May Cry could make a good movie...don't know if it would work live action though.

Katamari Damacy as a movie would be interesting to see

What could the story to the movie be? i mean honestly is it gonna be about someone just moving from house to house? or will they make up some random story and then put yellow diamonds over peoples heads?i think its the worst idea ever, just shows how dumb Hollywood is, or how dumb i am for not seeing the genius in it.

According to IMDB, this is the plot.

"Pleasantview is one of the most delightful neighbourhoods to live in, everybody is happy, the grass is always green, children are always well-mannered. But newcomer Andie starts to uncover the 'real' pleasantview, for not only are Pleasantville full of cheating, lying, decieving, secret-ridden people like the Goths, Don Lothario and the struggling Newbies, but they are being ruled by a greater power. Andie is terrified to discover they are stuck in a video game being played by millions universally"

Yet the also have this listed as the plot.

"A young woman, Mary Waldeck who is a budding reporter, moves to Pleasantview too. She soon realizes to her horror that everyone in pleasantview is being subjected to a great new live human experiment, and have had their brains implanted with the idea that they're actually in a universally popular video game, and that their names even are the names of the people from the game itself. All except for Andie who becomes Mary's poor insane accomplice driven out of his mind from what the scientists of the world had been doing to him, but also determined to save himself and the other citizens of Pleasantview."
