I Hate Jack Thompson!

For those who don't know, Jack Thompson is an attorney who has been taking a strong stand against violence in video games for many years now. His latest lawsuit is against Best Buy. He gave his son his credit card and let him purchase an M-rated game from their website. Now he is suing them for selling M-rated content to minors online. What an idiot. Can't he just go do normal lawyer stuff?

He is also trying to ban Manhunt 2 from releasing in the US. One of his main points against it is the UK banned it. Didn't we get away from England so we'd have freedom to do, say, believe, and play what we want?

Normally I wouldn't advocate this kind of stuff, but this guy has (imo) no right to harm other peoples lifestyles for his own personal gain. And thats exactly what it is: this guy just wants attention, he's like a little kid. It's like, if he manages to ban violent video games, and my parents are ok with me playing them (which they are), anyone in my situation gets screwed over, but all the overprotective parents are all happy, and younger people can't do jack-shit (haha) about it, because "We don't have kids so we don't know what its like." Well I do know that I'm somewhat normal and I played (and still play) plenty of violent games.

Edit: That is not actually his website, he doesn't have one, but you might as well email them and tell him to shut the hell up.

If you choose to email him, plz do not taunt him, insult him, or threaten him. By showing him you are an angry gamer you just give him more ammunition for his lawsuits. I just dont want you making it worse.

Well i just had to make sure, alot of people just go on a rampage towards this guy. A magazine or something gave out his address so al the gamers could send him flowers to show him they werent violent but many sent violent letters instead.

Jack Thompson is a total prick. He is the biggest lying piece of anti-video game shit around. Has anyone heard of the moddest video game proposal. Jack said he would donate ten grand to any charity Paul Eibeler wanted if a game company made a game that was about a man going on a rampage to avenge his son who was killed by video gamers. This is where he is shown as a a total prick. Several people made mods for various games that are about just that. Also another person made a new game to meet his standards called I'm OK: A murder Simulator. Jack stated that his offer was completely satirical. What kind of prick does this. He is the biggest conservative Christian bastard around. He  sued bully because there was homosexuality and sued BestBuy because he told his son to buy an m-rated game with his credit card online. Its assholes like this that make the world suck for people who are different and arent all f#cking religious.

Hes a jerkoff.

As far as I can tell he has little to no case against the purchase of a M rated video game by his son. You have to be 18 to get a credit card, therefore it is assumed that whoever is buying the game is 18. It makes perfect sense and he is in the wrong in the first place for giving the card to his son.
