Hey guys I'm new to the forum so it's great to meet you all. A friend of mine showed me this site and I'm really loving the content.
A little background info on me first. I'm 17 years old, 5 foot 6, and around 145 pounds with a low percentage of body fat. I've been drilling parkour for about 6 months now as well as resistance training and overall body conditioning. Last year I tried doing parkour but found that I was way too weak for it and only about 118 pounds. I was not able to do more than 3 pullups or bench more than 90 pounds so parkour was out of the question. Forward 6 months and I've added more than 25 pounds in muscle and can do 3 sets of 17 pullups with a bench that will be breaking 200 in a few more months. I'm eating a healthy 5-6 thousand calorie a day diet of wholesome food and am burning it off with 1.5 hours of lifting after school followed by 2 hours of parkour drills. I'm also working on overall body conditioning with human flagpole training, hand stands, breakdancing, and a variety of odd exercises for both muscle controll and a little bit of show off style.
My problem is no longer strength or conditioning but I've hit a wall with what to do in my training. I've been lucky enough to have 2 friends who have more experience than I do and have showed me about 3 years worth of learning which I've picked up fast. We live in a small town where the common person doesn't know about parkour and currently we 3 are the best traceurs I know of. Being that we don't live in a city our practice grounds are sparse and I'm running out of new things to try. As of now I'm teaching a few new friends the basics and fine tuning my own technique but with no one to teach advanced techniques better I'm soon going to have the same problem my more experienced friends have. We are stuck without anyone really good to show us new things, techniques, and drills.
Youtube helps but as you all know nothing beats having someone with you to show you in real life how something is done or what drills to run. As of now my main weakness lies in vertical wallruns and precision jumps into balance, as well as speed vault into precision. If anyone has any sort of drill to train it I would greatly appreciate the help. Also if anyone is anywhere near Harrisburg, PA let me know. That's the closest city we have but driving there isn't always an option because of gas prices these days. Thanks.
