Well,

No one has started a topic about this so I guess I will.  I know that you can add comments about the article on the front page but I think it deserved a topic all its own.

I havent heard anything about tribes before now.  What it a secret or did I just not pay attention?  When M2 dropped from UF I started threads about a US team and many people Said it was a horrible horrible idea.  Well,  I called it. *winks at M2* I am glad that there is a US team now.  I know someone might get on here and say its not the US team and its just a SUPER group comprised of people in american but in no way will it represent all of the US.  I rebutle to that would just be...the founder of American Parkour stated a team.  I think it would just be fair to basicly say it is the unoffical US TEAM.  Just like UF is the Unofficial UK team.  *thumbs up*

Another question.  on the DVD tutorial cover gif.  It says Tribe||| is that Tribes 3 the clan...or is just tribe?

It's just The Tribe...those three lines are just an aspect of the cover design.

As for the whole "US Team" thing...yeah...we're planning on kicking ass in the Parkour world championships...  ::)

This is basically an organization of those who were already doing their best to represent Parkour in a positive light. Now when there is interest in having people organized to showcase various talents, we have it covered, rather than relying on chance to get the right message across.

Aw you guys are so cute with the matching outfits.

Having a group like this (with the intentions to represent the US) will be a challenge. You guys (and Weena) will be under constant scrutiny and criticism from the world parkour scene, so represent well.

I should add that the tutorial cover is still in progress, so that's not the final version by any means.

A full description of the tutrial DVD will be out soon, just before the DVD's official release. For anyone who's seen Dispersion at full DVD quality, you're in for the same treat :)

Edit while posting -- Asa, you forgot DeeAnn, she's far from being "you guys" :P

Yeah, scrutiny, whatever. We're out for the good of parkour, and particularly the good fo the US Parkour scene. We're all quite sure that people will question that and pick it apart and assign us various roles in their own minds ... we're concerned with our actions and how they affect parkour much more than we are with people's impressions and assumptions, as we can work to our actions and affect the outcome, but trying to please everyone is a task best not started :)

Oh, I apologize.

Looking at the roster, this definatley is the "Dream Team" of US traceurs. We've got Ando, Exo, Frosti,  The Merry Men...

...a real live bunch. :)

don't really like the running person logo. and something about the text logo doesn't really look good. i'm not sure what it is. could be beveled too far in, could be the patter that's masked on it, or it could just be that it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the site or with the dvd box cover. i posted a comment on the front page before i saw this thread, so i will just post it here:

i saw the precision graphic from the dvd i think on gammey's (i think i spelled that wrong) site. heh, will, this dvd be "free" (like dispersion), or will it be to make a profit? if it is the latter, what will be the price? i wonder which one will be better, tutorials by APK, or tutorials by UF?

I like this. Even if some people don't like it, everyone on the team i'm guessing knew some people wouldn't.

If this takes off would you guys add people and make the group bigger or only add when someone has to step down permamently?

the tribe and APK are 2 seperate projects so continuity between the 2 is not an issue.

I actually really like our little running man, gameyy is an absolute genious when it comes to this stuff. I think its much better than the cliche silouhete of a person posing in the air. but it differs from each person to the other, we liked it... so we chose it  :P

and ya, we will rock the international championchips as a team..... but remember gear, youre MINE in the individual competition!!!

The little dancer guy grows on you, it takes time but you get used to him, he's actually a real good listener and a great friend. I'm proud to be a part of this team and I understand we might have people who don't like us but I'm just here to do my best to help the parkour community grow and do my best to portray parkour in the best way possible to the rest of the world.

Lol, leon will have a lan party the day before until about 5am, and then finally get all 39 messages you left him when he wakes up at 4:05 pm the next day. and then tell you hes on his way, so you wait for him and you call him again in two hours and he says "ya I just got on the road, ill be there in 15 minutes"

LOL WE LOVE YOU LEON.

As frosti said, we will do our best!!!

Well, I will ignore the previous inuendos and say that I am also fully commited to representing parkour for the world in the best way I can. Like we've said before, this year is going to be incredible for the us parkour scene. While I tend to stay out of the "politics" of it, I do read those threads and offer help and advice to anyone in need.

Peace.

Its an huge honor to be on this team.  All of these guys represent the US fully and bust their asses at every jam and every training session! I'm lucky enough to have met most of these guys before, but when we were all together in DC, everyone totally clicked.  It was pouring rain but we didnt care.  Like skipper, gear, and M2 said, were here to to get things going in the US.  More jams, more knowledge, more great experiences.

edit: 'f#ck off is it' or 'f#ck off about that' are just a british colloqiallism of saying 'no way is such and such true', it's not meant to be offenseive at all!
