Woah, how did I not notice this thread before now? So far I'm really happy with Halo 3, there's a few things they could have done better, but overall it seems like the best Halo yet overall. The story was a great conclusion, matchmaking doesn't suck for once (Well, not always), for once I actually like the big maps, Forge is awesome, and the ranking system seems better than it did in the beta (Probably due to more playlists). Just got to a Capitan Grade 2 last night, probably going to get a Major before the end of the week. Still need to get all the achievements, got a mongoose mowdown the other day, that was fun.
Oh, and HungAzn, the Capitan you played sucked. It takes a highest level of 20 and 150 exp to get to a Capitan Grade 2 rank. If the person you played against had played over 300 games, his win to loss ration was around 50%, that's horrible. If you want a good way to judge someone's skill in the game, check their win to loss ratio (exp/ranked+social games), if it's 70+, they'll probably be decent. Most Major's I've played with have played over 500 games, which is rediculous since it only takes 300 wins to get to a major (And a highest level of 30, but that's really not that hard to get).
The one thing that surprises me is how some people have played around 500-600 ranked and social games, and not a single custom game. Maybe it's just me, but I just don't see how someone could play matchmaking that much, custom games are where the fun is at. Infection, Hide and Seek, all of these are so much more fun in Halo 3. Editing maps in Forge is so much fun too, I've probably spent hours in Forge just making new variations of maps for specific game types.
