I'm not too sure if this was said or would work but... Hang drop, on the way down drag your toes against the wall to get some slow, when nearing the bottom push off and roll at the end. This seems like it would work the best. Sorry if my explination is bad but if anyone understands it please put it in better words so others will know... if it would work.

Ive found myself in some pretty stupid situations before, not exactly sure of the hight but uncomfortable with it. I was with a fried once and we were on a roof top and we were in need of a hurried way down so he used a running jump and landed perfectly. i tried a hanging drop and it really hurt. His dad used to be a Ranger in the Army and he said that he learned that by jumping from a large height while going fast that you convert the downward energy into lateral energy which can become a role or a flip.

good idea, and one that has helped me out of sticky situations, but I think the point of the thread is more about if you fell from height with no warning or time to make a careful descent. good thinking though.
