Topic: What to do when the snow flies...

Well, the snow just started to fall again which means that the amount of free running that can be done will be severely impaired. I know that many people use the winter months to sharpen their skills for the spring at gyms and whatnot, but what exactly do you practice? What kind of things can you do without having to be outside?

Well, I for one know that ice can be a particularly harrowing challange.  But interesting.

Snow is GREAT for practicing rolls and such.  And other moves that might require a softer landing on the first few trys.

Ya, just look at it as natural padding .

ya and after youre done practicing you can white wash one of youre freinds
It really sucks when you get snow down the back of youre coat or whatever youre wearing and it goes down the back of youre pants......

went out today and it was snowing alittle bit so i started practing rolls and by the time i was done there was bout 3 or so inches of snow and i was at a play ground(the jungle gym thing was metal) and i was practicing a run i filmed(you can find part of it in one of my vids) and i slipped and smashed my face and when i got home i was freezing and my face looked normal but after i warmed up i had little circles on my cheek's and stuff from the imprents of the floor on the gym thing....
main point BE REALLY CAREFULL WHEN IN MICHIGAN WHILE PKING...Even the wood was frozen with ice coming off of it!!!!

Warning!:

If outside in the snow, never quickly go back indoors and run full speed on a tile floor towards a wall, in an attemp to do a wall run!

I did something like this and afterwards all I could see looking up with my back on the ground was Jimmy ("Altimot" on these forums) who was above me still on the glass roof outside, blowing on the glass and writting O-W-N-E-D

That sounds... Unique... lol I slipped on ice and face planted a metal rod earlier this winter... Luckilly I was by myself at the time, as the people I was PKing with left to get a soda

i to did something similar.... i was trying to do a wall run after runing thorugh a pile of mud...... Shadow06 (harris) only instead of hearing Owned,i hear "wall wins"

you gotta train not matter what the conditions. The pro's say do it and i know why its the sole point of parkour moving in your invirenment even in the snow gotta doit.

winter....the only season i really pk.....be cause of a few things too...moslty cause people wont come bother you with what youre doing and just leave yea aloune

In winter I can't do much except rolls and jumps. But over winter we go to a gymnastix place with every thing. If you need training really bad PM me to set up a time. At flames they help you with alot of parkour and freeflow stuff. The main instructor can do three gainer on groung in a row. To check the place out check this website.
