Jumping Rolls
« on: January 12, 2006, 11:18:47 AM »
I dont really know how to explain this to much and the topic header might be a little odd.  Although, I was wondering how many of you when doing a roll with a large amount of movement behind it, do somewhat of a landing dive roll.  So if you land after running and jumping say...10 feet, would you usually go staight into your roll or would you try and bounce when you hit the gound and do more of a dive roll out of it.

I dont know if that came across as english or not but let me know if that is to confusing.

I know what you are describing, at least I think I do. I find that the greater the forward momentum I have, weither in running or in the actual jump (like if I am doing a 10 ft drop but I have to jump 7 feet outwards also) has a big factor in determining my method of rolling. What I'm getting at is that I feel that the momentum I carry determines the "size" of my roll.

As long as you don't force the dive and rather just let the  momentum carry you you should be fine although you could give a little extra push for the ladies ;D.
