Girard Park Facilities
« on: August 14, 2007, 01:22:19 PM »
Okay, Ronnie at Girard Park in Lafayette, LA has agreed to let us use a room and pads for basic training. I want to use it to practice/perfect rolling and such. I'm meeting with him tonight to introduce myself and give him a tentative date/time. Friday nights at 8pm were free. Tuesday evenings were not. I'm afraid he's not very helpful. I had to basically guess and it was a yes/no deal. I might get to take a peek at the schedule and find free slots for it, though. Anyone else interested? The location is ideal. The park has lots of area around it, so we'd be surrounded by opportunity, as well as the campus, which is walking distance from the Rec Center.

Update: apparently, if someone were willing to teach a class for the general public, we would have permission to use their stuff. As I'm (obviously) unqualified to teach anyone anything about pk, we'll probably just stick to outside stuff for now. If we decided for some odd reason to pay for it, it would be $400 per session... haha. I'm going to dance on top of your building now.

Check us at http://parkour.meetup.com/107/

Consider this an invitation,  Our very first meet will be at Zephr Field N.O Fifteen mins from downtown, they have a foam floor playground running trail.  Also I may be able to bring my 10x10 gym mat.  Seeing how I dont know most of the people comming I am planning on working on fundamentals and conditioning. After that though I am planning on having a meet every week or even twice a week at differents places around the city.

Late John
