Vaulting Pops/Cracks Knee
« on: January 09, 2006, 07:28:52 PM »
Okay so I'm trying to vault something sideways (where the thing I am trying to vault is on my side). When I jump up and push myself over with one arm, my opposite knee pops/cracks and it hurts. I have no clue what's going on or what I'm doing wrong. Usually I'm not running when I do this kind of vault. When I do run and sideways vault, it usually doesn't pop/crack.

Though I'm not sure they would help in this instance, you should get some knee bands, I explained all about these in the injuries page under knee tendonitis.

Give your knees some time to rest.  Try to not do  that vault for two weeks or so, see if it heals up.

Yeah I know what you mean, I have had that and you may need to go to the chiropractor for an assessment and some small exercises to do for it. It's most likely the horizontal pressure your putting on your knee and the muscles around the knee cap may need strengthening.

Some things that may help are leg extensions, squatting, and a moving squat with weights. Also ask for muscle stem to strengthen them (mainly because it's easy and if feels great). Also, rest and icyhot may help a lot too  ;).

Woah...man

If I'm getting the gist of that visual demonstration there, it looks like your an amputee who's fighting a blue snake with a double-bladed red lightsaber while arrows are being shot at you from all sides.
