GREAT NEWS GUYS!!!

APK is now following us on twitter, and I shot them an e-mail to see if there is anything they can do to follow us or add us as a link on their Facebook page as well. Just a side bar:

I am NOT intending this as a means of simple public exposuer, but rather as a means to keep us connected to the main American Parkour movment so we stay united as to "what parkour is", "what free running is", and "what the disciplin truley means as a philosophy."

Just in case anyone was worried. BTW I have NO intentions of ever turning this into a "FOR MONEY" deal what so ever. I am simply doing this as I have the passion for parkour, agree completly with both APK's and OKPK (aka Chris and Cody's) vision and definiton for what parkour is and should be, and most importantly, I have too much free time, so I figure "eh, might as well be productive right?"

OKPK Official business question here

Chris or Cody, have you guys ever considered doing a demo in one of the public schools?
Ocassionally PE theachers allow outsiders to come in and demo a sport, or disciplin to try and get the kids interested in new phsyical fitness ideas.
The main reason I mention it is that my sister is a PE teacher and wanted me to come in and demo/talk about parkour
to her students. I told her I was completly unqualified as I don't have the skill level required yet.

I'm not asking you guys to do it, I was just wondering if you thought it was a good idea at all, or if it would only cause
more unneeded deaths from idiots falling of 40 story buildings, and "rolling" to avoid injury.

I believe there was an article on the main apk page that said parkour was being introduced into PE programs, and that the national board or whatever recodnized it now.

sounds like a great idea.  i would much rather them learn it from me then from youtube.  i have had a few people contact me about parkour in local PE classes and even one person who i guess is the head of OKC public school PE about doing a demo, but they all fell through.

You could always try calling them back now. A little time has passed, so maybe it would work out this time. I'll get more info from my sister.
It would mean a trip to Tulsa, but if its that valueable to everyone involved, I'd come get ya.

ya i don't have any contacts for them now, but if your sister is serious maybe we could get together a day before she wants us to do the demo and plan things out.

im down to help with this. it sounds like a great way to get the younger generations of the community involved in parkour and help them understand what we are about, not just what we do. parkour is great way to keep younger kids from getting involved with drugs and such.

alright, im sure this is posted all over the place but im new here and seeing a lot of old posts that dont really apply anymore.. where is the best place to go to find date/time/location for groups meeting in Oklahoma? My friend and I are new to parkour and i think it would be best to find someone who knows more about what they're doing..
