Yeah..that totally sucks that you guys had such a bad time at the jam...

Like I mentioned before, it was my first jam and I was just blown away by how awesome everyone was...perhaps it's just a case of bad timing or interpretation?

I dunno...hope to see you out there man

Have fun and train hard

I think that myself and the rest of our team is going to continue to distance ourself from the local parkour scene. The jam was pretty fun, but we noticed some negativity towards us for throwing bigger tricks. Overall we had a very positive experience, but certain individuals at the jam seemed very hostile towards our take on freerunning.

We might give it another shot next Thursday, I'm not sure.

It seems to me that you are kind've asking for it with your attitude.  There very well may have been some concern about your doing bigger tricks, thats how the jam was.  We were all new to each other so we were looking out for each other, we didn't know each other's limits, and it seemed like there was some people who got a little caught up in the group mentality and thought they had to do stuff they might not be ready for.  Oh tell the blonde kid nice double front, has he landed it yet?

Hey that's cool Dr. U.
You know you guys are pretty cavalier about throwing yourselves to the mercy of gravity, :) so to speak.  Everybody has their own opinion on the matter, I hope nothing I said offended you.  But anytime you and your fellas would like to session, you know when we meet.

We made it tonight and had a great time despite complications with Christians. xD
(if you weren't at the Jam, some dude called the cops on us at UCUC and threatend to rip one of our guy's head off for swinging on a tree.)

There was only one guy who was overtly giving us trouble last time that we tried to distance ourselves from but he was instigating, quite a bit.

I understand you guys do have a lot of respect and concern for the safety of others which is why we were willing to give it another chance. The guy that we didn't get along well with was not there and everyone else was awesome. We certainly do not intend for anyone to try the stuff we were, you guys are awesome at parkour and not all of you are interested or skilled with flips so we can respect that some would not be willing to try them and I'd never push it on anyone since they are dangerous. Our team focuses on flips and we are able to preform them safely, we are not very skilled in parkour which is why we didn't do a lot of the stuff you guys were doing and none of you pressured us to try anything which was great.

We'll definetly be coming back, we can and have learned a lot from you guys, your take on Parkour is very interesting, you train hard but are very relaxed about it. If the guy we had problems with returns, we'll keep our distance and try to show respect so we don't have an issue.

There was a lot less tension as well, we were worried about throwing bigger tricks the fisrt time thinking our landings would be scrutinized and our style would be looked down on. This time I was much more willing to do bigger stuff that I wanted to do and that made things a lot easier on me. Dan wasn't with us last time so he wasn't comfortable doing anything big since he didn't think you guys would react as well as you did.

You guys were all f#cking awesome, I had a great time and Dan/Shayne did as well.

And Sat, I do have an attitude online, I'm much more pretentious and I apologize. XD In real life I'm a lot less of a dick, but I am still very much of a showoff. xD I hope you can deal with that, the only way I can throw a big trick is if I have people to watch it. Don't worry though, I wouldn't do anything reckless .

Justin will not be trying the double front flip again, that was his one and only outside the gym. He's a gymnast and I think he's given up on freerunning. He refuses to train at cottonwood and is only training in the gym. If it matters, Demitri, Dan and I are starting to test it out, we'll have it sometime this year. XD I think I am going to do a double back, Demitri will do a double front and Dan will do a double sideflip. My focus this winter is learning double variations so if you're patient you'll likely see a few this winter in our videos.

Thank you for stepping up and apologizing and explaining yourself.  Thats disappointing that Justin is giving up on free running.  Anyway funny story I'm friends with a girl he was dating at summer camp.

Not really. He is a passionate gymnast and is very skilled. Whatever he does, it's what he wants to do and frankly he's been a dick lately anyway. XD

The title of this thread doesn't seem to match the actual reality of the situation.. because people keep bringing this thread to life, which is proof that the Colorado Springs Community is not dying!

I'm moving out to the springs this february for a new job.  I have been training with NYPK for a few months now, and started my training before meeting NYPK about 3 months ago.  I wanna keep training once I move, at least once a week...so I hope you are all down to set up a weekly session if something doesnt exist already!

Well . . . it does not seem like things are so dead anymore, lol.  It seems to go in waves, from what I have seen.  People get hyped up and then lose interest and then the cycle continues.  I think as long as we get at least a few regulars, with some who come every once and a while we will be pretty good.

I will try to make it every Thursday from now on, as long as I don't get snowed into my home!

I watched that ESPN segment about Demon going to France.  That was pretty spiffy!
