News of New "parkour" game from Kotaku
« on: July 24, 2007, 07:30:57 AM »
Saw this on Kotaku last night. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror's_Edge

A First Person action game (but, as they stress, not specifically a shooter) that uses "parkour-inspired" movements to move through the enviroment.

While it sounds cool... I question the ability to do this from a first person view. It seems like there just wouldn't be as much going on, visually, to be interesting.  Time to kong that rail! Oh, it looks like my character jumped over it. Time to cat to the wall! Oh, I just ran into the wall, and then went over.

It just seems that far more interesting animations could be done from a 3rd person perspective.
