Just to be on the safe side...
« on: July 09, 2007, 07:07:48 AM »
a few days ago i resumed the pulling section of my training (i had been gone for a week without any pull up bars, trees, or usable things near me) and yesterday i felt a slight sensation/tenderness/tightness in my left elbow during my weighted pullups. I may be doing too much too early (quite a few weighted pull ups and heavy rows) but i'm also wondering about what other people may think. After going on webmd, i'm quite sure it's not even close to tendinitis or bursitis, and i have felt this before in my right elbow; i recall i had been pitching a day or two before a workout, and when i was doing pull ups the sensation was similar. Other than just being careful, listening to it, and icing, any thoughts?

maybe you could give us some more info?  what do you mean about a slight sensation or tenderness.  It doesn't sound like much, but perhaps can be minor tennis/golfer's elbow ore may simply be overtraining.  you may have also minorly strained a muscle, which would just take some time to heal.  either way, it doesn't sound like much.
Any information or advice given is not to be interpreted as diagnosis, or statements of causality, conditions should be evaluated by a licensed practitioner of Chiropractic or Medical Doctor IN PERSON.  Therefore treatment recommendation should be considered similarly and bears no consequence to me.

yeah, it isn't too bad at all-i just hate the idea of missing out training time, so i wanted to check in about it to be careful..as i said, i've had similar sensations like this in my right elbow from throwing baseballs, and i think that the change of location kind of had me worried (since baseball hadn't caused it)

i think it might be from a little bit of overstress, but otherwise it should be fine after a couple days i imagine
