Interesting kind of anti-shoes article

It isn't "anti-shoes" but it does identify a lot of the problems that shoes cause. I think by identifying and acknowledging these problems, you can help correct them when you have shoes on. For the past few months, I've been playing with what I think they're describing as their "fox walking" technique, and it does feel much better than clunking around.

I didn't post this in the last barefoot running thread we had because it wasn't necessarily about running, so much as the shoes themselves.

Does anyone else try to walk with their "fox walking" method?

Thanks for sharing this article! It was quite a fun read. I've been walking/running a lot in my Vibram FiveFingers lately, but I haven't yet naturally adopted the "fox walking" method. I will definitely be paying more attention to this more natural style of walking, and hopefully turn it into something of a subconscious habit.

Quick Question: Since running form (in general) is so much different than walking form, can "fox walking" be adapted to "fox running" as well? I'll have to experiment with this when I get home...

Barefoot running technique is, indeed, very similar!  Forefoot strike, heel comes down to absorb the whole of the impact, spring off heel to forefoot again to continue in stride.

Thanks, happydud.  That was a good read.
