Any tips for my railsprings?
« on: June 30, 2007, 08:36:36 PM »
So, me and my friends have been spotting each other for railsprings, and we ALMOST have it down...but we can't seem to land well...it like I can rotate fast enough or get enough air or something. anyone have a few tips?

Also, whats the best height object to learn a railspring? we have been doing knee to waist high tires at parks.
"With my feet upon the ground, I lose myself
between the sounds and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. "

I'm going to guess you're talking about a handspring on a rail.  Which, if so, I'll have to start calling it a railspring, sounds a lot easier to say.

I started doing them in a gym over a vault, but outside I started on little bike racks.  They're easy to grip, often by grass, and are at a fairly low height to spring over.

I don't have any advice, sorry, 'cause I can't do them, but I have a question, are railsprings easier or harder then regular handsprings?

This might just be me, but I find them a whole lot easier than handsprings on ground.  You've got the whole way down on the other side to finish the rotation, that's probably why it's easier.

Awesome. I've got to try them out tomorrow in the gym. If I get them down, then maybe I can post something useful to help you, Matt.
