New Boulder Hotspot
« on: May 24, 2007, 05:12:55 PM »
Its in northeast Boulder and is one of those gigantic wooden castle like playgrounds that have been seen in several other parkour videos from around the country. Who knew we had one right here in Boulder? Hopefully we will get it on the hotspot map and get a write up for it soon. Maybe Sat can get us photos,  write up, or at least an address?? ;)

Speaking of new boulder hotspots, there have been 2 other ones found recently.

Red Rocks in Boulder, not the amphitheater one, is a great place to do parkour in a natural and rocky environment. Is complete with giant sandstone monoliths, boulder fields, fins, canyons, and caves.

The east CU campus around 30th and Colorado is very good with a  variety of stuff to do as well. Highlights include lots of good vaulting opportunities, roofs, and grass. Also, there is an awesome office building adjacent that has all kinds of close condensed walls perfect for kong to precisions, kong to cats, cat to cats, tic tac to cats, and more.

Will hopefully get all 3 of these hotspots done for COPK in the next week or so.

No problemo...they should be there now...

Could you check the placement of the East CU pin? You mentioned here that it was 30th and Colorado, but the writeup says it's marine and 31st?? I could only find an intersection for 30th and Marine..so I put the pin there :)

Also, Brenda and I went out to the castle playground last night...lots of fun!! Though its a bit narrow for my broad shoulders <grin> Also, I found a lot of the structure to be lacking in reinforcement..(though maybe I just need to lose more weight!!)

See y'all tonight!

Cheers
Jim
