Help with parkour roll?
« on: April 29, 2016, 03:31:39 PM »
Hey, I want to get into parkour and have been practicing my roll. I can do it on a soft surface without any pain, but on concrete I feel pain in my shoulder and middle of my spine. I took a video of me rolling and would like some feedback. Thanks in advance! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JJq1dKEXRY&feature=youtu.be

You role looks great for someone who just started. It usually takes a while to be able to roll on hard surfaces, I'm talking like a year or two to roll absolutely comfortably on concrete. As you train more your roll will automatically become more refined to get rid of the pain.

Hi!

I'm not a proffesional, and I'm not sure if I can always do it right, but I've been told, that when you go over your shoulder, you should go diagonally to your left hip, not over your spine. For example, you roll over your left shoulder, and you should come off of right hip, or right lower back. I hope you understood me :D
