so i've been working on my side flip and i just need a bit of help with the tuck. i tend to go more over my head and i need help to turn it more into the barrel roll type technique to use it as a vault etc. Im the guy in the bright green/yellow tshirt in the video.

Your side flip is fine. That's not the way a lot of people do it, but it's still ok. Everybody will have little variations to the moves.

If you want to learn to flip more over your shoulders start by taking a foam block around waist height and run up to it and do a side roll over. Your hips should be directly above you and you should be rolling in a straight line across your upper back from shoulder to shoulder. Keep drilling this and eventually you'll be able to do the side roll without letting your shoulder touch and there's your side flip.
