Sideflip Tips
« on: November 09, 2014, 11:11:07 AM »
Hey I have been doing my sideflips for a while now and have trouble landing. i land crouched and facing foward like a frontflip, i am sideways with my takeoff and i 1-2 step my takeoff and its good until my landing. any tips? I have seen my fair share of tutorials so that will not help.

How do you practice it? Just throw yourself into it on flat ground, or with a gym block/friend with a bent back under you?

Got a video? More height is probably the answer. Setting better, improving your takeoff, more leg strength, and maybe more commitment are what will do that. Dunno what's going wrong unless I can see it, though.

Hmm. I would suggest getting a friend and trying to learn it with him. Drill it a day and I think you will make it correctly.

Thats what happened to me when i was learning it, im guessing you learned your front flip first aswell. its the muscle memory and spatial awareness. you need to really focus on keeping your shoulders from not twisting to put you in a position to land like a front flip. what helped me was doing the wall spin over and over then doing the side flip right after it. a wallspin is basically a sideflip without the hands.
