I need someone! Collinsville area
« on: May 09, 2007, 10:53:57 AM »
I live in collinsville, 15 y/o, and i can't do squat with parkour. i've got my black belt in tae-kwon-do but quit(well, about had it). i did gymnastics for a year and i'm fast, and quick thinking when it comes to making mistakes and recovering. all i can really do is jump far, high, and roll. i want to do alot more. anybody in the area? (around 15 min or less away)

I have no idea where the hell Collinsville is, therefore it's a while away.

haha no cahokia would not be a good place to parkour. its an archaeological site that was once the largest settlement in north america. it reached its peak around 1,000 AD and is known for its enormous earthen-mounds, the most famous of which (monk's mound) is larger than the great pyramid. from the top of it you can see the st. louis arch. its a pretty amazing place

now that i've forced a history lesson at you, i dont know of any good pk spots down there.. but a good place to start is schools and other buildings with a lot of rails, ledges, etc.

all you really need is something to practice your vaults for starters, and forests are already good for training

i thought u were talking about cahokia the city not the historical site. we refer to that as cahokia mounds. cahokia is a city about 30 min away

hey I live about 40 minutes north of you! lookin at a map we could go to Edwardsville and run around. I just started doing parkour like a few days ago but i don't really have fears so I can climb and jump things... I'm 15 too so maybe we can start hanging out and practice together?

I'm in edwardsville on weekends! 17 is the age here. I've got a 15 year old step-brother though.
