This article gives the wrong connotation to what Belle said. The article in question is here: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2007/04/16/070416fa_fact_wilkinson

Belle also says that "[turning this down was] the hardest thing he's ever done."

It's somewhat old news.  People over at .Net knew about it long before the NEw Yorker article (Jerome told us.  :D ).

Found on page 5:

Quote
“He came to see me at my house,” Jeff said, “and he told me he didn’t know where his life was going. He was only interested in parkour. You could be a super policeman or a firefighter using it, but you can’t earn your living, because there’s no championship. I said, ‘Maybe if we film what you’re doing.’ ”

I don't think it means anything, but it's interesting that the question came up back then.
I give you this:
I will never view my fellow traceurs as a springboard.

OOOOO that got me so mad when he said  >:( >:("Who knows how long it is going to last (and he's not the youngest anymore either). He's very talented, but he doesn't sell himself very well. Then again, that seems to be his point, he doesn't want to commercialize parkour. What a pity. "

Nicole, London,

Pakour is not meant to show off or look cool or anything. Pakour is a way of life. Parkour is used in life and death situations unlike Freerunning. Parkour is about improving mental and physical strength and making you become fearless. ;)
