This is very true never slow down unless there is danger, if anything give a sudden burst of energy before you jump for the extra speed and jump length/hight if need. This does depend on the object size though but you should almost never slow down.

--- Quote ---Of course you never keep your whole weight on your fingers, that's plain idiocy

and as for this, it is not what I meant either. I meant that you shouldn't really flick your wrists at all because you will land on your whole hand then when you flick your wrists your fingers will bend back and break because of the forward down motion. It may seem dumb but if you are doing a really long Kong the force you put on your hands is increadable and flicking your wrists will transfer the pressure from your palms to your fingers which may result in breaking them. :-[ I serious, this happened to me this summer because someone told me it would put a few feet on my Kong which isn't likely in the first place but I did it anyways and it worked for a few days without the length addition and then the shiz happened :'(.

Bachelarius:
Oh, im with you. I was talking about short dives, long exits. Yeah, what you said is right. In long dives you really do not need to flick your wrists, as you wont get much exit anyway. I'm talking about these:

Study his technique, his takeoff and where the tip of his arc is.

Flippusmn:
yeah got ya, the wrist flicking isn't totally necessary though it may help a bit.  :)
