Whether it is the official national jam or not, I think CO has the ability to host the biggest and best jam this country has seen. I've had tons of well known traceurs around the country asking me about a big COPK jam this summer. Now I think it is time to hammer out the details.
The other big jams this summer are in June and July, so naturally, I think one here should be in August. I've talked to some people with conflicts on the weekends of the 4th and 18th so I am proposing:
What: COPK National Jam When: The weekend of August 11 and 12. The big events and jams will be set for the weekend with other smaller things going on on Friday and Monday should anyone choose to attend those as well. Where: Downtown Denver, Red Rocks, possibly other places as well such as Mines, a state park (natural parkour), or Boulder.
So obviously the goal is to have this be the biggest, most fun, best jam possible. This starts first and foremost with CO traceurs, so let me know what you guys think. Anyone we can get from out of state to attend is an added bonus.

Sounds Awesome!!! We could even get a bit more formal and have certain events like a "night run", or a "Tag" or "Capture the Flag" or something. I'll put my noodle to work and see what Ideas I can muster I'm Excited!!!

Denver has the best spots and is the best place for a parkour jam in the country as far as I've experienced. Everyone should really consider going there.

We could hit most of those places in two days we'd just have to keep a tight schedual and start early. the 11th and 12th work great. It would be awesome to hit downtown and boulder in the same day and it only costs $2.75 to get to CU via RTD from market street station. also if you're from out of state it would be most feesable as far as cash conservation goes.

haha you all know im in. i can also help with arranging temporary housing as always for any out of staters. the rtd idea is actually pretty hilarious in the mind, a whole bus full of tracuers. muahahaha. also big jams like this should have big parties afterwards or in the middle. the point is a party should happen. i am partial to the poolside bbq but if anyone has anyt better ideas or additional ideas do share.

Yeah the bus thing is funny, but I don't see it being very logical. I think getting carpools are the most realistic option for getting people around. Locals would be in charge of their own transportation as would out of towners who drove to the area. Out of towners who flew in would carpool with locals. For example, I have 4 seats to haul around out of towners and could squeeze another couple in my Explorer if need be. If we can get at least a few other people to do that, we should be able to get everyone to where we need to be.
I will also be able to put up at least a few people at my place.
BBQ/party will definitely be had. Matt, is your complex cool with like 50 people hanging out there? Parks are another option. My house in Golden is another option but I'll have to talk to the parents about that. A camp ground is another option. There is one located about 10 min. drive from Red Rocks. This could be a good way to house up other out of towners in a centralized location.
Keep discussing guys. This jam will only happen through everyone's efforts collectively. We need all the input and brainstorming we can get.

The campground is a great idea, as far as transportation goes, the RTD takes about twice as long as driving, so that probably isn't the best route. You would probably want to have the events so it's like Denver one morning, Redrocks in the afternoon, and then party that night, and just tell the naitives to bring their cars expecting to give people a lift from one place to another.
I can imagine a party with a whole bunch of athletes, nobody touches the soda lol

So glad this is in the hopper! I will still be on summer break that weekend (I think) and could potentially help with planning/execution. The pickup can hold much BBQ supplies and bee--umm soda. I am all for an after party as well. I know from my job that it is possible to get special use permits for many city parks. You just need to call them up and explain the event. Usually its a small ($20 or so) fee and you get the place. If it was in a place with a group campground we could solve some housing issues as well. Perhaps Chatauqua??? I'll check.
