ya i hear ya guys. We've been pretty active up here in TC, but noone really comes on the forums. Got a freerunning class going, and once the snow clears we'll start some outdoor sessions. Probly can muster up a good crowd of 10 or so. Otherwise I've been busy with jobs and such but theres a good chance Ill be moving to Ann Arbor soonish. We'll see how that goes. Keep up the training guys!

Dear MI posters,

We're hardcore around here, we'd rather train than post. There are probably 25-30 (conservative estimate)  active members here in Ann Arbor alone and only 2 or 3 of us post with any frequency if at all.

On the subject of Ann Arbor, Levi did you get into UofM?

Well, I'd be willing to go to Ann Arbor if you'd be willing to come to Detroit.  Also, I post a lot because I have nothing else to do at work.

You guys from Michigan should try to come down to Ohio for the Labor Day Jam (Sunday 12:00 PM) at OSU. We'd love to meet you all and get a chance to train with you. Here's the info in case you're interested.

There is also a really long thread about this jam you can see here: http://www.americanparkour.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,159/topic,4843.120/

Just keep practicing and you will see things start to open up it took me about 2 years of training, by myself. To really see what there is and what I can do. So don't get discouraged!

A lot of the original traceurs of Europe do solo training. It's good for you, especially if you already know the basics.

Once you have learned the Knowledge, you can begin recruiting folks who are interested, and then you will have for yourself a whole team of budding traceurs to train with, and trust me when I tell you this, that can happen VERY FAST.

I'm learning everything i can but i need help with my precisions i suck at them. I'm good on train tracks, but there is nothing else to do it on with out falling 10 feet or jumping 6 feet

There are no curbs where you live? No stairs? No handrails? Come on man, you can practice precisions on ANYTHING. Even if there is no obtacle in sight, you can do precisions on flat ground. I know a guy from Cincinnati who first learned to do kongs on flat ground with no obtacle. You just got to use your head and be creative.

i do them on train tracks, but i want to learn how to do them on rails you know. Those rails around here are either crappy or over 6 feet apart.... Muskegon sucks, but i'll go looking again.

So just work on doing seven foot precisions at ground level, and then when you are good, go try it on the handrails you are complaining about, and remember, parkour is about adapting yourself to move confidently through whatever obstacles are in your environment, so you cannot always go looking for obstacles that will fit your preferences, so work with what you've got, and before long, you will find a way if you are determined ;)
