Topic: Freerunner/tricker dies in car accident in SoCal

Ariel Clark, son of 'Christmas Story' & 'Porky's' producer Bob Clark, died Tuesday with his father in a car accident on PCH.

LA Times only mention of his tricking/freerunning was:
"Ariel Clark, who also went by Ariel Hanrath-Clark, was an avid musician, juggler, gymnast and card dealer, Dodier said. While studying music at Santa Monica College, he came to classes for weeks with his leg in a cast after breaking it while turning cartwheels on the Santa Monica Pier, music professor David Goodman said."

only reason i knew is they said on the news last night that Ariel made "internet movies" and showed a couple clips of his youtube vids

Man, that's a bummer. Obviously he was someone who loved to play and trained hard.

Looks like my suspisions were correct, he had attended a few jams/gym sessions with PKcali, but due to his fathers fame, his life has not gotten as much mention in the media, beyond being Bob Clark's son

For anyone on here that may have known Ariel, it looks like the memorial is tomorrow.

When I read the title, I thought you meant a freerunner got hit by a car while running! Well, its sort of a relief to know it didn't happen like that. Still sad though.

My thoughs go out to Ariel Clark.  With the turn of resent events I may rename my jam.  I think It would be an honner to host a small town Jam where ever thing is low to medium level and a couple of big things.  To honner our past traceurs and freerunners.

The worst thing about it is the guy that hit the clarks, was an illegal alien from mexico that was all messed up on drugs and shouldn't have even been in this country... at least thats what i heard

i dont want to get into politics here, but:

1. The driver who killed Ariel and his father was intoxicated, .24 BAC or 3 times the legal limit in California
2. In Los Angeles the Police follow "Special order 40" and thus are ordered not to arrest Illegal aliens simply for being here illegaly


Truth of the matter is any drunk driver could have killed Ariel, but THIS ONE did and had he not been here illegaly he wouldn't have.
