Well I'll say that only the word parkour is new to me. I have been doing the movements since I was very young. My grandmother had a lake house with a creek that flowed near it and i would run up it for about a mile and then run back down to the lake, all of the while moving up and down the rocks and over the water and around the sides. Then as I got older i did more things around my small town. i got injured on the job on 2/12/07 and tore my meniscus in my right knee and I have been really at it trying to get back into the swing of things. Parkour only gives me a name to call what we do.

I always loved jumping around on things & finding odd ways around when I was young.  When I went to see Casino Royale in theaters I was intrigued by the initial chase sequence, but just pushed it to the back of my mind.  One day my wife sends me a wiki entry about a potential Prince of Persia movie and I found a link about parkour in there.  I followed the link and read up on the history.  Then I found District B13 at blockbuster and I was hooked, so I googled parkour and ended up here.  It also helped that I was turning into a real slouch and wanted a fun way of getting back to being lean & mean  ;)
Royal: He saved my life, you know. Thirty years ago. I was knifed at a bazaar in Calcutta, and he carried me to the hospital on his back.
Ari: Who stabbed you?
[Royal motions to Pagoda]
Royal: He did. There was a price on my head, and he was a hired assassin. Stuck me in the gut with a shiv.

I can only really remember from my childhood, swinging under, over and around things, poles, rails, tree libs, etc. Doin what is called, underbars, etc.
I've always liked to run as fast as I can and go everywhere just so my mom couldn't get to me.
I guess, me always wanting to "break away" from the norm, and from family restraints landed me with a growing need for immense freedom.
All in all. I found out about parkour a week ago, I've been training rigorously since, and I'm really excited to get out there and start when I get off house arrest(don't ask).

My friends older cousin found out about it in Miami and told us about it when he came back. I went with them one day to a parking garage and tried it out. I think I have finally found a "sport" I love considering I hate sports and most physical activities lmao.

I was running around with my brother around some of my teachers one of them says something about it I'm like "I don't wanna do that stuff and die" because she's says they jump off of buildings and stuff. A couple of months later I found APK, after finding this site a couple more months later I went to my first jam March 11th, 2006. Then from there it was history.

Well, I grew up on Jacky Chan movies and (obviously) always thought it would be cool to be able to do what he does.  Then earlier this year, I saw an article on Primal Fitness in the local paper and, after a few months of procrastination, decided to give it a try.  I've been hooked ever since.  :)
