A spanish article in my sophmore high school spanish class. It was about David Belle and parkour. I saw him do a wall flip and I told myself I always wanted to do it - so I googled parkour ;)

When Prince of Persia 2 was coming out, I read an article a/b it in an IGN magazine or something, and there was a tiny blurb that read "Real Life Prince of Persia?" in the corner. It was like a 1-paragraph thing on Parkour, which I googled, and have been changed since. :)

My mother told me about some guy she saw in reston town center jumping over a fountain and yelling with a mask on then doing a wall run.

My bros friends from school were doing it, but he never tried cuz he was embarressed.

Then I was in Hilton Head, all the other guys were gone and I started to get bored

so I googled parkour and thats how it started

The Russian Climbing video. I showed two of my friends, and we instantly started devouring every video and article we could find for a few weeks, and then we went out after work and...

the rest is history.

I was checking out http://www.buildering.net and I saw the link for Urban Freeflow. Two things caught my eye, the first was the fact that the community there was "attitude free" which is a revolutionary thought when you're coming from climbing forums...the second was the fact that I already did this kind of stuff, especially after giving up skateboarding. I dove into studying about it and the history and philosophy just seemed to mesh so well with everything I wanted to do. Started training that week and the rest is history :D

I saw the Ripley's episode on the Yamakasi in 2001.  It stuck in my head.  All through high school, I had always remembered the "street gymnasts" (yes, that's what Ripley's called it) and their amazing ability.  I continued with martial arts and rock climbing.  Sometime in university, I saw a David Belle video online and went, "Oh my god, that's one of the street gymnasts!"  I did my research, find out what it truly was, realized that I could do this, and began my training.

I was at a friend of mine from kindergarten-like brothers now-(billy) but i was at his house, and we were screwing around jumping over stuff and his friend (alex) came out and started playing tag with us. then alex got his brother and he did a front flip off of the porch and i was like i wanna do that. so i added him on my myspace, watched his video on freerunning (10 min. video by josh lament) and googled freerunning, then saw parkour, and then the other names like buildering, street jumping, urban climbing, yamisaki etc... and googled parkour, found apk and watched the tutorials, and here i am.

I've always had it in head and heart. Now it's become a calling...

I remember seeing some commercial on TV @ least 7-8 years ago with a black guy with dreads (I still don't know who it was), climbing up walls, vaulting, jumping, running, and doing drops from rail to rail down the side of a parking garage and I knew it was something I must do. Then it kinda slid to the back of my mind until about 4 months ago when I was hanging with some friends and one of them showed me a video (of David Belle) saying "this reminded me of you" and all my friends agreed. I thought it was awesome and I couldn't get it off of my mind.

I started researching Parkour then I started doing Parkour then the Blizzards hit Colorado and all I could do for a while was Condition and research. Now here I am - a full blown junkie  ;D

I was watching TV about five years ago and noticed the Nike commercial that everyone googled.  It was brand new back then and what peaked my interest was that my friends and I had been doing stuff just like that since we where little kids.  We just didn't have a name for it.  Once it had a name, It was much easier to find it on the internet.  The rest is history.  I've only recently been getting into the history, philosophy, and advancement of Parkour.  This site is like a Traucer lightning rod.

A topic about David Belle on Manwithoutfear.com and how the regulars of the forums were refering him to as the real life Daredevil.
