iPhone apps.. any suggestions?
« on: July 06, 2012, 12:21:14 AM »
I have been cycling since early childhood; it is more of an obsession for me. Not long ago, I discovered a great way of pairing my iPhone with my bike rides, and there is no end to what I can have on the go.
BUT, I have never used any such application. With these apps for sports and fitness installed on iPhone, I read that I will be able to get real time data on my bike performance metrics like Bike speed, distance travelled, time consumed, bike cadence, heart rate which all are there just a click away.
If you have any relevant experience, help me out! Which app would you recommend for a novice?

The reply was from a spambot...not an English speaking one. :)

Sorry, I've used an app for running, but not cycling.

It makes running more fun...which is to say, any fun at all. :)

My colleague uses it for running, I wonder if it is equally good for cycling.

the only thing that wouldn't be the same is the calories burned. but it shows speed, distance, and mile time so it should be good

Alright. It shall be pretty good then. Because I am least concerned about calorie burn information. Thanks.

I am going to be launching a web app beta in about a month's time where you can log, measure and track pretty much anything. The idea behind it is, if you do 50 kongs over a 4' table, you should not only be able to log it, but measure it in whichever way you see fit... how long it took, if you were wearing a weighted vest while doing so, etc.

If anyone is interested in participating in the beta, please PM me

I actually think Zombies Run is a brilliant idea, but launched and marketed before it was ready for mainstream. They have some pretty good traction and I honestly hope they fulfill their full product vision

I'm sure there has to be. If you put 2+2 together, their launch fell a bit short of their product vision and yet it was still widely successful. I mean, you all have heard about it, right?

As a developer, when I heard about it, ideas immediately started popping in my head, and I am sure the same is the case with Zombie's developers... the question is how long it will take. Without knowing much about them, I am sure given their success, they have at least a good bump in funding
