Vault Help
Dillon Wolcott:
I have multiple vault questions here:
Lazy vault: I can't seem to get my other hand down fast enough so I always end up doing these vaults with one hand only. Advice?
Speed vault: I nail it every time with my right side but I can't manage to do it with my left over anything other than a waist high rail. Advice on non-dominant proficiency?
Dash vault: Any advice on progressions to work up to a dash vault? Also, tips on swinging my legs around, doing a sort of lazy dash vault over a table?
Kong vault: I can do it on a little two foot block but there's no intermediary from that to a picnic table, which is all I have to work with. Advice for kong progressions?
I know that's a lot but many thanks in advance.
Brandon Entric:
Lazy vaults: Keep practicing.
Speed vaults: Work on it until comfortable. Had to do that with lazies, urgh. So, drill, drill, drill.
Dash vault: I know not of any progressions, and I feel like the lazy dash is kind of like starting off as if you're about to speed vault, but when you have your hand down, kind of move your legs in front of you into a dash. I've only really done that once before, otherwise, it's just a straight (usually 'bout 45 degree) jump, kicking legs out straight forward & over.

on the kong, skip the "2 foot block" and go straight to the picnic table. practice both diving kongs and monkey on it. you dont have to go OVER the table at first. practice landing on the table while putting more force into each kong/monkey to go farther. you will be flying over the table in no time.
don't just try it short ways either, long ways can help with getting more distance ON the table if you dont think you can clear it

I feel like there isn't too much progression up to the dash, it's kind of one you have to go for. However, there is one thing to do, assuming you are on a block shaped object or a bench. You can work up to the dash by running up to the obstacle, jumping, and landing on the obstacle with your arms back (like you would for a dash), one leg tucked in, and one leg out (also like a dash). Now once you get comfortable landing on it, doing an actual dash is the same movement, you just have to keep your momentum going and commit. Hope this was slightly easy to understand, it's hard to explain, haha. If you can jump straight over it, you can dash it. Good luck!
Chad Zwadlo (Zwadloc):
There are definitely some progressions you can use to learn the dash vault. Here's a little video I just threw together of the progressions I use when I teach them.
