Seriously, would someone explain?
« on: May 22, 2012, 08:45:09 PM »
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w43ezAJoLoA" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w43ezAJoLoA</a>

I can't even see what this is supposed to allegedly do.  Would someone who has a CSCS explain it to me, because obviously, I'm too old school and stupid to get it anymore?

Is it tai-chi + crossfit + bosu ball?
Is it a strongman implement for not so very strong people?
Is it a douchepipe?

...the fitness industry blows my mind on a regular basis.

Edit: The homepage of the douchepipe!

Those girls are Hot and those guys are in shape so it obviously works cause they've been using it. That's all the science most people really need.

I'm gonna store mine with my Electro Ab Maker, Gazelle and All my sit-up machines

Watched the video again.. soo double post.

1- This actually seemed like an Adidas Commercial

2- The function seems to be Dynamic motion. All of these movements seem a lot like MovNat only with a stupid "DouchePipe". I do a lot of this when I train outside or in the woods, only I use branches and rocks. Great thing about branches and rocks you ask. You can always get a bigger branch or rock to up your training with out spending a dollar.

So, I suppose if you don't want to get dirty or you don't want to lift weights or row or be smart and not spend $... this would be an effective toy to show people who know very little about exercise and especially dynamic exercise

Lol, it would at least look like they're doing something when they pick it up and wave it around, but seriously, what do they think they're accomplishing when they put their feet under it and jump up?

LOL Gravity Infused...

Quote
4. Gravity-infused

Human form was designed and shaped through the influence of gravity. Gravity loads our bodies and allows us to become stronger and more efficient. If we use gravity in the same manner as our intended goal (i.e., for hockey), we take advantage of the elasticity of tissue, which means that we can generate more force with less effort. This means that an athlete or client that needs to be successful while standing should train in upright positions most of the time.

Bro, I'm infusing gravity into everything!  This is going into my new book and DVD combo "p200xxx" where I combine muscle and dietary confusion with gravity infused intervals across all modal domains for maxxximum toning of troublesome fat storage spots!

Look for it out in stores soon.

It's a damn shame. Silly BS like this has ruined a lot of friendships for me. I get annoyed listening to people who don't question and accept that all of this silly BS is true. People that buy into all of this fitness fad shit never do anything right, but the worst part about them is they try to impart it on you. I get really annoyed with any of them regardless if they're a bro or a beautiful girl I just don't like hanging out with them. It's sad really.

A hollow plastic log that apparently doesn't weigh very much?

Honestly, it looks like more of a problem to have to awkwardly carry or drag around all the time than it looks like any help. Pushups over it? I'd get mad and shove it out of the way. Playing toss with it? Wouldn't a medicine ball weigh more, and make for better co-ordination? It's like those stupid Sketcher shoes.  ::)

Thanks for showing us this video Joe!  Now I can improve my strength and get that tone muscle look at the same time!  I am glad they made the log a lighter weight because heavy lifting is bad for you.  Heavy squats kill your knees and dead lifts kill your back even if you do them correctly.  The ViPR is going to be the thing that I'll use to stay in shape from now on!

It's about as ridiculous as trying to actually train fascia.
