Pretty new and loves to move
« on: April 23, 2012, 10:50:07 PM »
I have been looking into parkour for a while and think it is definitely something i would like to invest my time into. It's track season for me right now and my "Jump Coach" put me in charge of pretty much assessing and designing a new jumping workout for me and the other jumpers. I would love suggestions on where to find a structured, or parts, of workouts to increase sprint speed, jump height, jump length, and all round power that will work for long, triple, and high jump. I told my coach about this site and he seems very intrigued so i would like to use it to its full extent and definitely incorporate what i like to call the professionals of suburban track runners.

I ran track but didn't jump, but one of the best and simplest ways to work on your jumping is by jumping (not trying to be a smartass!). You can do broad jumps, vertical jumps (jump and reach), squat jumps (both regular and weighted), jump-and-tucks, squat-jump-and-tucks, "skip hops", and exercises like that. Just the first things I could think of, but they work for me. Sorry if that didnt help, but I hope it does!
