Training in Powhatan/Richmond VA (NOOB. CRY FOR HELP)
« on: April 03, 2012, 05:10:03 AM »
Is there anyone training in/near Richmond? Also, is there anywhere that you know of near me that I can safely learn tricking? (Vig's looks kind of small. I haven't been though, so I don't really know)

The Richmond Group of traceurs does pk and freerunning, i know it's not tricking but if you train with us a few times at our regular practices you can join us at out gym sessions, we've worked out a thing with a gymnastics gym.    hit up our facebook page,

I also am wanting to start out with PK and Free Running in the Richmond area. My goals are to be able to do a wall-run backflip and a standing backflip by the time I leave for college in the fall. I also want to do something fun that will encourage me to work out more regularly, and I think PK is just the thing. Plus, I'll be moving to Cincinnati in the fall, so I'll have a nice big city to PK in if I can get my act together soon!

Update for anyone who is still interested.     Yes Richmond is still very active, and we've expanded our reach.  We have a large group in Richmond itself and a smaller but equally capable group in Southside/Chesterfield.              We are Pillar Parkour (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pillar-Parkour/366344566727336) and we run both the VCU Parkour group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/352141171648/) and the networking Hub Eastern Virginia Parkour Hub (EVAP) (https://www.facebook.com/groups/388780794489909/)               We keep a very friendly and open to anyone mindset and are always willing to take new people experienced or not.       We have a strong passion for Parkour and Freerunning and believe it really is for anyone and everyone.   One of our hopes is to see parkour grow to the level that it is socially acceptable everywhere and that more people take on a stronger and healthier lifestyle.
