Tying Rope Harnesses
« on: March 17, 2007, 08:18:20 PM »
Well, I want some sort of harness so I can work with weights easily while doing pull-ups/dips/working on muscle-ups.
However, I'm too cheap to buy one.

I figure I can tie a decent one out of rope, seeing as how I learned to do so a few years ago at Boy Scout Camp, though I have since forgotten it.  I've tried for about 3 hours total of screwing around with rope, all to no avail. The most that I can remember about the harness was that it started with a bowline on a bight ( http://www.cave.org.vt.edu/knots.shtml#SECTION00011620000000000000 ).

Any rock climbing message board I've asked on has proven to be of little use, at best.

Does anyone know of a decent way to tie any sort of harness? The only requirement is that it has both shoulder and leg loops, or else it would probably not stay on with weight attached to it.
