not really the activist type but something has to be done, to figure out what i mean look up kony 2012 on youtube and watch the first video that pops up. it may be long but trust me its bad. so do what you can to raise awareness to stop kony, its good for all the people hurt and the pk community

Been so many discussions on how kony 2012 is a scam, and it pretty much is.
Shady organization, basically splurging off of donations, and kony has already kinda been stopped, dude. He's on the run, and the LRA is inactive and already in peace negotiations...

America has been after him for yearsssssss.

If people know this and still support Invisible Children because they feel it’s the best solution based on their knowledge and research, I have no issue with that. But I don’t think most people are in that position, and that’s a problem."

Im not saying blindly fight for something, just to be aware of it. maybe like research it, anyways idk why it just now exploded when its been happening for years, probably cause of the actual video. also not saying donate anything.... that part is kinda dumb, they really cant do anything and if we do go to war for them we'd be shooting ten year olds.

I like to go back to to the idea, where if you ignore it, it will go away. I'm also tired of hearing about this, like it suddenly just became news. Can't we go back to talking about celebrities shaving their heads?

So long as I have parkour I'm okay.

Read this, or ignore me and claim BS & ignorance. Do what you will as I am just trying to educate you all and myself further.
First off;
Google, Define: Propaganda
prop·a·gan·da/ˌpräpəˈgandə/
Noun:
Information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.
The dissemination of such information as a political strategy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda

It does not matter if IC is a scam or not, after so many decades of these events people are finally aware, but not getting the "right" information. I agree that Kony needs to be tried for crimes against humanity to set legal precedent (which should have been done with Osama), and although they way they are campaigning for it is wrong, you can not argue with the fact it is a good idea.
But catching, stopping, trying him will not make a MC-Difference to the African/Sundanese/Ugandan people, because there are still his subordinates and corrupt governments in power (who have allowed him to continue for the $$$ they receive in aid). This is just another misguided cause like many others before to help the African people, once people (Americans/Canadians/Europeans/First World Countries) feel good about themselves for helping they will forget like they always do...which is why I generally do not bother to even begin to get involved or pay attention to affairs or conflicts like this, because it just adds another voice to the fray which is not even remotely heeded among the millions-billions of voices.
I like how one article mentioned how long it took to find Osama, and they still ended up killing him anyways. (If you believe that, and not that he was killed 5 years ago blah blah, I do not care) Here is the quote and the article below:
"It took the world’s most sophisticated army over a decade and billions of dollars to catch Osama bin Laden. Kony has been on the run for 25+ years. On a continent 3 times the size of America. Catching & stopping him is not a priority of immediate concern. You know what is? Finding a bed net so that millions of kids don’t die every day from malaria. How many of you know that more Ugandans died in road accidents last year (2838) than have died in the past 3 years from LRA attacks in whole of central Africa(2400)? We’ve picked our battles and we chose to simply try to live. And the world should be helping us live on our own terms, by respecting our agency to choose which battles to put capacity towards."

(There are so many resources on this now, many which I have not read, so do some research yourself ;))

P.S. This is a personal opinion and interpretation of general world events: If Africa becomes stabilized from the Armed help the US gives on this issue, the US will have good economic and militant ties with reformed Africa (If it becomes a singularly governed country). The US will start trading their domestically created surplus goods such as cars, Cola, guns, and etc. (Part of Obama's political agenda to stimulate the economy) to Africa in return for their created goods and things such as; oil, gold, and diamonds. Once this trade is established they will no longer be dependent on the Middle-east for oil, which means that American troops can exit, and they will not need to engage in wars over there, unless they want to for continued economic & political control. And finally the US can give the old middle finger to China & their goods. China, who is now quickly becoming an influential world power, will then start trade with the Middle-east to get the oil they need to continue their economic boom.

ODA's were already sent in a little while back, problem is being taken care of as we speak. On the Osama bit, there was never going to be a trail, capture was never a tangible option. Whether the President liked it or not, the boys on the ground decided a long time ago, it was a kill mission.

it was a kill mission.

As for the Kony situation, I trust a civilian's intel more than the military's, who are known to lie.

Maybe the US military is not wanted or needed there at all, and they have their own agenda for being there.
