Ankle Problems
« on: January 22, 2012, 10:55:31 AM »
Alright, so this is only with my left ankle.

As of late I've been noticing that when I bend back my foot (imagine attempting to push the balls of my feet toward my shin), and whenever my foot bends that way I feel a sharp pain at the front of my ankle, right at the crook.  About where my leg meets the foot.  This is obviously a big problem, as whenever I land drop precisions or long precisions the pain shoots up.  Running precisions where I try to land on the balls of my feet on a corner are a nightmare.

This only happens with my left foot, whenever I land precisions with both feet my right ankle will feel perfectly alright while my left ankle will hurt.

What do you think is the problem/remedy?  I've been doing Titanium ankles for a while now.

This has been going on for about a month.

EDIT:  Oh yeah, it feels perfectly fine at all other times.  It only hurts when I move my foot in that manner, for example now it feels great.  There is no visible swelling or any marks anywhere.

Have a chiro or PT perform some posterior talar mobilizations on you and/or a grade 5 mob to the ankle

Yeah, I can't really get to a chiropractor or anything, but the ankle mobilizations helped.  Anything else I could try?

Keep doing the ankle mobilizations and non-painful ROM

They should eventually help get back most if not all of it

Have you tried simply taking a week or so off? as hard as it is to do sometimes resting can be the best thing. focus on your upper body while you rest that ankle maybe?
just what I think.let me know if it helps!

Great advice!
