I like Tricking and Free Running, i don't think i actually do parkour, because i do it for fun and self expression, which would change the term to free running.

dude elementary schools are some of the best places to train and learn new things, as long as your not up on the roof there shouldn't be any problem, when people see you training they mostly just let you be, now if you were just hanging out there with no purpose, that would be different

It just becomes natural after a while. I've seen some people notice places I would never have thought of.
The basics are like using picnic tables for vaults.
Use Rails for percisions.
Etc.

I always try to find spots on foot, because you can get into areas and search around better that way.

Downtown areas are the best.  Often offices or other buildings will try to design quieter areas inclosed with buildings on all sides.  Those spots usually have some fun areas and architecture.

If you are in smaller cities or towns, it will be a little more tough.  Like everyone else said: schools, parks, etc.

If there are any nature trails or other natural parks with trees, boulders, or cliffs, those can be excellent.  One of my favorite areas is not even in the city, but out in nature.
