Best Barefoot Shoe?
« on: January 18, 2012, 06:48:00 AM »
What is the best, grippiest, most comfortable barefoot shoe for parkour? I don't want to spend more than $100, but I am willing to spend $150 if it is really good.

Also, I don't want to get any of those weird glove shoes. I'm sure they're good, but I don't want to walk around looking like that.  :-\

Looking like what? Honestly, I don't understand why some people are so averse to toe shoes. I think that my green/gray (moss/putty?) KSOs happen to look great with my faded jeans. And there are so many models, styles and colors that I'm hard pressed to think of one that won't go with any look. Hell, I'm considering getting another pair for work (business-casual).

If you haven't, at least just try on a few pairs. Maybe you'll find that they're comfortable enough to overcome any fashion issues.
Age is just another obstacle. Get over it.

I would deffinatley recomend the vibram KSO's (my favorite shoes)

I love my KSO's. But before I got them I was looking at Merral Trail Gloves. They look like shoes but are barefooters. But they're more then 100 bucks.

Hands down the ZemGear 360 Ninjas. I wear them everyday. They feel like socks, but are actually quite grippy and give me a good boost in my running, because they are tabi!

I would recommend Vivo's (like in Ryan Ford's video), but they are expensive (to me).

Don't hate on the VFF's. One of my favorite things is the weird looks. It's like Parkour, People think it's stupid till they witness it's real awesomeness. I use my shoes as a conversation starter all the time. Plus they really are awesome for PK
David Belle once robbed a bank and left all the money on the Roof. He just wanted to prove that he could overcome any "Vault"..

Check out minimalist running shoes dude. They may be quite expensive for anyone on a budget but, thats all i wear nowadays. I dont wear vibrams our stuff like that though. Check out the Mizuno Wave Universe 4's. These are excellent shoes and they look amazing; I get compliments all the time.

Incredibly comfortable and useful. They hurt like hell if you're on grass trails/sticks, but these things are smooth as Milton's head in terms of running on concrete. They feel like you're running barefoot, but they are wonderful protection. Downside: they wear easily, but they're only about $30. If you buy the Parkour/Free Running (360) series, it starts at $60. I emailed the production team, and they're making my size this summer! Can't wait.
Run, run like the wind!

Mercury, do the sides of soles, where the seam is, on the Zem's wear out quickly?  I have heard about them from a barefoot running forum, but they pointed out the seam as being a possible weak spot.
That sounds pretty dangerous.

I wouldn't say so... Only if u use them as day to day shoes.
