Pro tip: don't touch the snow with your bare hands.
Doubly pro-tip: Wear gloves on days below freezing.

Triple protip: Wear gloves when you want to.

Personally, I'm usually fine without gloves anywhere around the 30 degree mark. It depends on so many other factors: Wind? Rain? Snow? Sun? Rails? Concrete? And also what type of training I'm planning to do.
