parkour sling bag?
« on: January 09, 2012, 03:30:11 AM »
Is it possible to find any sling bags good for parkour? Such as Cole McGrath's bag in inFamous ONE (yes i got the idea from the game, number 1)!!
So it has to be light and doesnt make a bubble shape (if theres nothing in it, it should squish against you) and it sticks to you so it doesnt move around when you run..
Could be a suggestion for the APK shop to make xD
It's only impossible if you think it is
No one was gifted anything, they fought for it...
if you think you have a problem then you do[

Would it fall off of your body if you were inverted?

I thought the same thing while I was at target looking for a bag. I did a B-Kick, and a Webster.  It feels strange on the body. It's also kind of small. But, It stayed.

This is a bag/bandoleer I am going to try out
http://www.gorunnur.com/
I am e-mail corresponding with the retailer after I made my purchase, it is shipping now. And I am going to suggest improvements for a more parkour/free-runner type bag, although it may be a while. Also the owner actually seems (slightly) interested in my input for improvements, and bag designs.
After surprising a coworker he said something about me "sneaking around," this was my response to him: "I'm not being sneaky, i'm just standing here eating my sandwich, when I am sneaking you'll know it.
Wait..."

That looks nice...for the traceur though it shouldn't have anything (large) on the back...I wouldn't want to do a safety roll (or table roll, etc) with sunglasses and a water bottle back there!

It is still shipping, we will find out how well this works soon, won't we ;)
You don't have to put those things in there BTW. Also as I said I am in talks with the creator about making a customized version of it for the free-runner/parkour community, so if you have ideas..., like putting padding where the sunglasses pouch is, or adding a waist belt. The water bottle does seem like it will be an issue though, I would like to have water...but from what I gather if you don't use the carabineer or have it attached to you, you can slide the whole thing across your shoulder to where you want it and have it rest there. But I still need to get it and learn what it can do and how it fits, in the meantime...

Edit: I am also designing a messenger style bag/butt pack, which would be similar but you carry books, laptops, gym clothes, and etc. while still allowing mobility, and rolls. (You guys know how I love to roll!) I am also "taking" ideas from things like the Mirror's Edge runners bag in respect to pockets and pouches.
I am already talking too much about it...don't steal my f'n ideas, random internet peoples, and companies...Inventors don't like that sh@t!

I got my bag, put a bottle in it, did one roll, ow. Tried moving it, some luck, but not as comfortable as it's default position. Will take a video soon, once I borrow a cam from someone. I appreciate any input anyone might have btw! I always do!

Wow, love the capoiera vid!

As for the pack, I was also thinking of a belt strap to keep it anchored closer to the body. That would be a better place for these sunglasses (at the front)  but still don't know about these pesky water bottle issue.

Yup! That is my thought too, an adjustable belt strap coming off of the side to get that swordsman belt type look. I already mentioned it to the company owner/creator before I received it.
Again you can put whatever you want wherever, as long as it fits, and you don't break/crush your stuff.
I already filled the pockets with things (medical kit, box cutter, cellphone, wallet, etc...) and tried it on, and I ended up completely turning it around, so the sunglasses pouch is in the front  I put my wallet in the sunglasses pouch along with a pair of collapse-able sunglasses/goggles.), and the water bottle pouch is in the front right beside my hip.
If you check out my YouTube channel I have uploaded a video of me rolling with it on, it actually felt pretty good, my bottle is 1L and it still worked...
Also there are a couple of pockets/pouches on the side that I can not put anything breakable in if I still want to roll, but I tried putting a pad of paper in there, a couple of gummy snacks, and some gloves, (which I had to cram in because they are leather and have big pads on them, cotton would fit perfectly.) and it all felt pretty secured without digging into my back/hip.
I am going to test this thing out this weekend, try to upload more videos, and show just how much you can put into it, how and where. It does tend to get bulky if you over load it like I have though, but I am pushing its limits just to see what it can do.
So I am going to want as much input as possible from as many traceurs as possible to give to the guy, also so I can "re-design" it for us. Also if anyone wants to buy one as it is right now I recommend it, it is kind of awesome as is...

P.S. Should I start my own thread to talk about this RUNNUR bag? or is this one good? Because like I said I am going to try and help create/develop a custom version for traceurs & Free-runners as it will open up a huge new market for him, and give us something we have been wanting for a long time, a perfect pack for parkour, so we can roll and etc. And I am still working on a full messenger bag/butt-pack design.

P.S.S. That was a long post, and I think I repeated myself a couple of times... ;D
