What?
Water conforms to the shape of it's surroundings. Do not be water. Shape your own life.

Yes, get rid of them superdude.

You're 12.
You do not need to be making tutorials.

You haven't learned self-respect yet.

You need to know what you're doing before making tutorials. They're for teaching others how do do something. Maybe you just meant training.

I'd understand you were making tutorials for people if you kong vaulted out of your mom's baby cannon, but you didn't, nobody did... That would be cool to watch though.

Anyways, even as long as I've practiced I wouldn't make a tutorial, and I'll tell you why. I LOVE to help others, I do not like feeling responsible for other's stupidity. If somebody has to mimic my hand-spring/cork-screw vault to learn it, then they're not learning anything, they're doing what parrots do... mimic. Which is why when I type something, you can't see how I did the reverse vault, only take the vivid description, and apply it, which is exactly what learning is.

Anecdote:

"Mrs. Thies, how do you spell 'desperation'?"
"Look it up in the dictionary."
"Why can't you tell me, it would just be faster..."
"If I tell you you'll just forget, if you do it yourself you'll remember how you had to look it up, and then you'll remember how much you hated it, and then remember to spell the word."
"That's stupid."
"Enjoy being that way."
"Did you call me stupid?"
"No, but you did..."

I personally don't approve of any tutorial, not even for vaults, the three I do approve of is conditioning, Landings (because these are difficult to explain), and hand-placements/launches. If you need a tutorial to learn parkour, you may as well start begging people to hold your hand.

I learned the good old-fashioned way, word-of-mouth. I was so desperate to learn new techniques and movements I got online, hit up chatrooms, and networked with other entusiasts. I listened to what they had to say, I visualised the stuff they said, I imagined doing it, I memorised it even. Seven years later I'm doing all of these movements, and the ones I don't even know the names of I give names to so I have a method to referrence them. If all people care about is making/taking short-cuts they're not skilled, they're cheaters. You make a short-cut you cheat somebody out of experiences, if you take a short-cut you cheat yourself out of experience. Rant much? f#ck yes, I'll rant the shit out of you for cheating, you don't have to be smart to cheat, just a complete loser.

This "Jesse La Flare" guy keeps posting his tutorial videos, and begs you to subscribe. He's going to really help you cheat, I don't care how in-depth and well-made the videos are, he's a cheater. He might be a skilled traceur, he's an even better cheater.

Let's put it this way, you're not learning things when you mimic, you learn things when you figure them out yourself, that's why senior board members say, "go out and figure it yourself," "go train," "shut-up," "stop asking so many damn questions and try it."

Rant over.

The question to really be thinking about, as far as posting tutorials goes, is if there is really a need. Are their no other tutorials of the movement to be found, or will your own be better than what's already out there? Personally, if I want to watch a tutorial or someone asks me to recommend one I go straight to Urban Current. I've looked around at others, but I've never found any that come close to them in quality or clarity. With such a good resource already in place, it's going to be hard to get viewers to watch yours.  Unless you think that you can make a better one, or find a better way of teaching. Which I suppose could be an interesting goal, and require a serious level of skill.
Passivity is a lie, there is only movement.
Through movement, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain expression.
Through expression, my chains are broken.
Movement shall free me.

The way I see parkour tutorials is like history. You can't do something that you know nothing about and be expected to learn it COMPLETELY on your own. Tutorials aren't for someone to hold your hand through something, but they're ways to share methods or techniques which have been thought to be most effective by the person recording the tutorial.

The reason I said tutorials are like history is because through history, we can study those before us and learn from mistakes and lead the right path without always having to suffer grave consequences. Imagine if we had never learnt about WWII in school. We would not know that it was a catastrophe that ended the lives of millions, and it could be very likely through this ignorance that it could happen again. Basically, tutorials shouldn't and aren't meant to hold your hand through the whole process and allow you to cheat. Specifically in parkour, REMEMBER: There are NO RULES. We're not following any strict process in our training that dictates whether we're allowed to do only flow on Monday, flips on Wednesday, etc, etc. The tutorials, if they hold your hand at all, can only allow one the idea of what you're SUPPOSED to do until you decide yourself to go outside and do it yourself.

They're not shortcuts. They're not ways to cheat.
What if a sixteen year old girl was never told the story of how her grandmother had gotten pregnant at that age with her mother, and how she had to spend years all by herself to take care of the baby? What would happen then, is the girl supposed to suffer the same fate just because it was a "shortcut" and she has to learn through personal experience? How about the advice everyone gives on here about drops? Are we not supposed to hold their hands and say "Don't take that drop, you'll ruin your knees" and thus allow them to live the rest of their lives in pain?

The important part is that this is MY OPINION AND THOUGHTS when the senior members say: Go find out yourself. I believe that's directed towards the few who need to know every bit and piece of every vault, and who ask at what point should you inhale and exhale in a kong vault. I believe they want you to go explore your own limits, but there's nothing wrong with asking/looking for help.
