Good picture of the explosion on Yokota's page, hate that I missed it but oh well. They said it was a 110 pounder left over from WW2, didn't say which side it was from....Funny I have literally stepped on it atleast 100 times running through that area and never knew it. Heck I walked through the cordon twice without knowing it. Good job SecFo, outstanding cordon.

Indeed. I had a former EOD guy in my class at missile-school, he said he'd do pretty much any job in the Air Force if it meant not having to go back to EOD.

He told us that one time in Iraq, he had to defuse an explosive vest worn by a would-be suicide bomber who'd been discovered and killed.

I'll spare the details of *how* he got killed, but suffice it to say it was pretty gruesome. And my friend had to go defuse the vest while it was still on the guy's body. O_O

While I was at Medina one of the EOD cadre toke his class out to diffuse a UXO with him. Things went wrong, he ended up blowing his leg off in front of his class, half of them quit that day. Anyways, going to Mt Takao this weekend, gonna check things out, also trying to get ahold of a pair of La Sportiva Mythos (rock climbing shoes) gonna see how that turns out. Will have pictures up sometime next Tuesday for ya'll

Sadly you hit the nail on the head there. My dad spent 24 years in SecFo, one thing I always remember him saying he hated that about his Airmen, thus why I got the crappy short end of the stick growing up, he was making dang sure I wasn't some DBA.

Ok so I can see Fuji every morning now, it's so clear and these mountains are beautiful, Fuji is pure white right now, never seen anything like it, will get a picture for ya'll soon.
