Hiking pants... the best pants I have worn EVER.  You can take zip legs off to make shorts and put stuff you need in the cargo pockets.  They're also really light and rip resistant if you slide on random crap.

Yeah, the price is a bit steep, but it's totally worth the money.

I used to use old military pants because of how durable they were, and they have good protection all around and didn't restrict movement a great deal.

Now I am pants-less ... (for parkour anyway.  I gotta go buy some sweats asap!)
