Thomas N Thomson 365 Parkour 10/30/2011-10/30/2012
« on: October 30, 2011, 07:30:46 PM »
My name is Thomas, I am 23 years old and have been inspired to start a 365 program. I have done parkour for a while but took a lot of time off due to motorcycle accident injuries. Within the last few months I have been getting back into the sport and am really looking to push myself to become a great traceur.

Today will officially mark the day I start my 365 program

Day 1
Sunday
Went to the park today for 2 hours for a small jam session.
worked on precisions, KP, gate vault, front handspring, reverse step thru, Italian job, hip circles and pull overs.

went to another park after a good rest with a couple of members of our team.
Had a relaxed time playing a long game of follow the leader, pushed each other to try a few things out of our comfort zones and work on flow a little bit. Had fun, kept the stress low and stayed smart about it.

Day 3
Tuesday
Went out to a park that we haven't visited in a while. Worked on some wall-ups, dyno, precision, vaults and tried a cardio/endurance run a few times. Had a hard time trying to get distance on my monkeys and built up a fear of my double kongs :( Today was above 90*... IT"S NOVEMBER!!!! lol
Took a short break and went to an elementary school after. worked on some flow/bar work, lache and precision.

my bad shoulder starting to feel a bit of strain and elbows are a little sore from the wall ups... tomorrow is a new day and I'm optimistic about the pain going away :)

Went to a small park today and found they had added a couple of little walls to the back of some baseball diamonds. Played around working on flow, precision, bars and a lot of wall ups as well as vaults
hit my hand on an up swing for a precision and its a bit swollen but doesn't affect my grip so i guess its all good :b
Had a good time and a relatively small but good turn out from some of the members of the community

Did a Wall Spin!!!!!!!

Day 9
Monday
Went to the local gym's today. got there a bit early and played around out side attempting a large KP to a rock from a low wall... close but no cigar. at the gym worked on vaults, muscle ups, hip circles, dive rolls, tumbling and broke barriers  landing some flat ground punch fronts :) tomorrow i will work on double kongs wall ups and speed runs/flow
Kept the team positive today and had a good time despite some set backs from a few members of the local parkour community

ALSO talked to the city about adding a fitness/parkour park to an existing location... seams positive as of now! sent some examples to the parks and rec. department and spoke with a supervisor, WISH US LUCK!

Day 13 (continued)
Friday
Got to Las Vegas and found two local parks at our disposal... so we took advantage! played around for about an hour and a half

Day 14
Saturday
Went to Centennial Park (butterfly park) for a Jam Day! As a team we got there at least an hour before anyone else so we could read the terrain and get used to the new obstacles. Did a lot of double vaults, tics, bounds and precisions. worked with rails and did some kp's. We stayed until the sun was about to set making it over a six hour day. went back to the park a little later that evening but didn't do too much just messed around for about 30 min to an hour

Day 15
Sunday
Went to the Las Vegas strip. Played around at various locations. attempted the Tallest kp but wasn't getting enough height... But i was happy with getting my feet there and getting the courage to attempt. Did some bounds, cats, wall runs, precisions, vaults and kp's. Had a great weekend and hope next time i go I will show the Las Vegas guys some more improvement.  Special thanks to Urban Aces, Zero Gravity, Mac and his Kung fu friends (who took an interest in Parkour)  AND of course my TEAM!
