Day 37 - Thursday

Taking things slow until this weekend. Went to the park and ran through the obstacle course for this weekend's event a few times. Feeling pretty bad. Hit up the gym and stayed on the tumble track and pits again. Did the absolute bare minimum. Trying to recover my over use injuries.

Day 38 - Friday

Feeling better today. Not in the best of shape however. Well enough to play outside a bit.

Outside I worked my flow and climb ups, as well as lots of poles and climbing. Feeling strong with my upper body. More dips and some plaunch practice.

In the gym today I worked my KP distance, double kongs, dive kongs, russian variations for my flips, KP to fronts, KP to sides, and lots of work on my back tuck on flat ground.

I feel that the soreness in my legs has been whats made me take a few steps back on my back tucks lately. I was feeling pretty strong today so when I threw them I was totally expecting to land on all fours. To my surprise I landed perfectly open. I guess some times taking a few days off is truly the best way to get stronger.

Tomorrow is our community's city run. We're all getting together to start at the top of our main street and work our way down while enjoying some parkour. Can't wait!
Then Sunday is our LHPK Invitational Event. Time trials, freestyle contest, pizza. Good fun to come!

Day 39 - Saturday

A small city run planned earlier today. We all got together and walked down our mainstreet a bit. Did some cool stuff I hadn't tried in a while/before. A big leap cat, some bounds, and a flip that I stumbled on like and idiot. lol

Only interesting thing that happened today was during my attempt of a KP My knee clipped pretty hard on a stucco wall. Knee is locked up pretty good and I have a decent cut now. But, that is the risk I accepted. Oh well. Lots of Ibuprofen tomorrow!

PS sorry my first video is taking forever to come out. Very busy with community stuff and all 3 of my jobs are going in to crazy mode due to the holidays. =( I swear I'll get it up soon!

Day 40 - Sunday

Our community's parkour invitational event was today and it was amazing. 9 entrants competed and it was honestly the most fun parkour event I have ever experienced.

No real training today but I definitely spent a ton of time running the time trial courses we had. Despite placing well on several runs, (3rd place on two out of 3, and 4th on the other) it was not good enough to help me place. I was a narrow 4th place over all. Very close matchup today! Its great to see how other people's strengths keep them in contention for speed when performing parkour movements. My friend Geoff is insanely fast through sprints but lacked the precision to tag the flyzones, Anthony is well trained in his parkour movements, and Tommy was a great balance of speed, power, and reliability. Very cool.

Back to training!

Day 41 - Monday

Hit the gym up again today. Worked my wall flips a bit more. It seems I lost them a bit so I need to start throwing those more as well as my regular back tucks.

Most importantly, I trained my tunnel flip a bit. Still sketched out by it but I'm getting there.

I also worked on an upward wall inward(?). I'm not sure what the name would be but its when there is a waist high object that you front flip up the same way you would perform a wall inward. The only difference is you end up on top of the object instead of in front of it. Very cool that I can get that now.

Also, after watching the video APK posted called "It ain't Parkour" my friends and I were inspired to work more flow on our balance beams and see what we could come up with. Made for a very fun, tiring training session.

Time for rest! Sleep well folks!

Day 42 - Tuesday

Had some pretty rough leg pain in my left calf as well as my left knee still hurting from that clip I had earlier in the week. I kept it light on my feet today with a lot of dips, some light bar work, and some more flow training at the gym. Nothing new today, just trying to keep safe while still getting my hour of training in.

Off to work now!

Day 43 - Wednesday

Keeping this week pretty light. Went to the park and messed with my russians. Having a bit of trouble feeling comfortable with it but I'm working on it. Eventually got my punch front russian looking passable I guess. Russian webster still needs a ton of work for some reason. Also work on some precision to front flips a bit. I have to get more used to the feeling of reacting quickly with those. Still pretty sloppy. Progress is progress however!

Decided to just skip my first month video since it is so far behind. Going straight to month 2! haha sorry for the inconvenience of missing a video. I have 3 jobs during holiday season as well as training and working with the team, which is a time consuming list of stuff.

Anywho! That completes day 43!

Day 44 - Thursday (Thanksgiving)

Got dropped off at the park for an hour of conditioning and then I called it good. Worked my russians a bit again and other then that, did some cardio, pull ups, and tons of dips.

Commence Turkey Day.

Day 45 - Friday

Amazing day out today. I was basically training all day today and man, did I need to get out and just go crazy. Nailed a ton of things I have been putting off for a while. Worked on a bunch of variations to my flips, new fronts mostly. KP to front outside consistently. I still shoot a bit low but I'm working on it. Punch russians, webster russians both looking better as well as flat ground websters coming along.

I also accomplished this webster front up this grass hill I have been fighting with for a while.

Nailed my back tucks more thoroughly now. I stopped doing them outside for a long time since I had some bad habits with them, strengthened my legs a bit and then brought them back out when I tightened all those bad habits up. Looking decent!

Also, am very comfortable with my side flips on flat concrete now. Very stoked for that.

Worked more of my double kongs, and other vault combos.
Finally, stuck a precision handstand.

Hopefully, tonight at work goes by fast and I can get home for some rest asap. Tomorrow I plan on destroying my upper body.
Amazing day!

Upper body today!

Worked climb ups, muscle ups, dinos, and precision hand stands.

Did some light conditioning as well. Some dips and pull ups. Kept it light today since I get to work a bunch of hours tonight on what was supposed to be my day off.
Very sad. =(

Tomorrow will be amazing to make up for it!

Day 47 - Sunday

Pull ups, precisions, and flips today.

Working on this split leg front flip that I'm loving. Still needs alot of work but I'm getting there. Also started working on an arial twist. Can't wait to throw that!

Ugh, still having trouble with russian websters. I guess I just don't understand it but you bet your butt I'm going to keep training. Spent probably 5 hours at the park with the team. Good training. Sore legs for sure.

Day 48 - Monday

Bad news for my city's parkour community. The only gym equipped to teach parkour is cutting the parkour classes for more cheer floor space. This not only hurts me financially and my personal training, but most of all this is a huge hit for the parkour community here. Sort of puts more weight on my shoulders but I will be damned if we lose our community because of this.

Anyways, I enjoyed my last day in the gym. I trained for over 7 hours today. I literally feel like I can't walk. Also had to work my job at Kmart! =P

Got my brawny on flat ground, standing side flip on flat, worked that new front flip as well. Was really nervous about that one because it changed how I tuck a bit or rather, WHEN I tuck. Also, messed around with a screwdriver dive roll. Awkward feeling going in to a roll from that but man does it look cool.

Worked on my ariels as well, building up to an ariel twist. The move is simple enough, just seems to be a lot of control to make it LOOK right. Still a work in progress but its coming along.

Anyways, I feel shattered.

Time to drop dead on my bed for the night. Hell week continues in 10 hours!

Day 49 - Tuesday

Spent most of the day watching tutorials and all the Summit vids from this year. Did some light conditioning and kept from irritating the ol' groin area any further.

Bought over $100 worth of wood and rails to start building my own training ground since the gym is taking away parkour classes/training times. Since my parks and rec rep here in Havasu has yet to get back to me with any updates about the parkour park we proposed. I suppose it is up to me and my team to give this town and our community the means to safely train in a reliable, private environment to build up fundamentals.

Building some wooden trapezoids and rail precisions to start with. Once I find some good land to take over, then I will start putting in some more permanent structures. (By good land to take over, I mean a friend's backyard or something. I don't want to seem like I'm just taking over city property or something. =P)

Anyways, off to my other job. Hopefully, its an easy night so I can rest well and "re-start" what was supposed to be my hell week, tomorrow... stupid groin.

Day 50 (woohoo) - Wednesday

Continued to work on my Brawny and pushed for a front full. Got about a quarter of a turn away. So close.

Also continued to work on this dive front flip. Its coming along but its still so shady.

Conditioned with dips, pull ups, and push ups.

Also, continued to build today. Rail precisions and the style of build has been figured out so the next few rails will come together way faster. The trapezoids are coming along as well. Should be done by mid day tomorrow! Pretty pumped. Can't wait to train on them!

Good night folks!

51 - Thursday

Kept it simple today. Went out and enjoyed the rain. Ran a little bit, conditioned a little bit and kept it light.

Hitting it hard tomorrow though!

Day 52 - Friday

8+ hours of busting my butt in the gym! Awesome work out, great training and tons of progress.

Kp to front 180, almost got my b-twist, nailed my first front full as well as lots of cleaning up of other moves as well as working on this dive front flip.

So much done, so happy... so tired.

Day 53 - Saturday

Had a local jam planned but it was rainy, cold, and windy so I cancelled.

Tried to train outside but the wind ruined my life. so I left the day to light conditioning and rest, hoping that tomorrow will wield a better day!

Day 54 - Sunday

Lots of training outside. Spent most of my time tightening up my fronts. Worked on my front 180 outside.

Also worked on some bounds and precisions to get up my leg strength and confidence on those particular movements.

Lots of legs today. Feels good!

Also, very sorry to hear about Korey's passing. Particularly, Jump City had a big impact on me and my parkour since I was watching it right when I first started practicing. Him being a part of that, this was a huge shock for me to hear I can't imagine how hard it was for those who knew him.

good luck to his family and friends.

Day 55 - Monday

Started my day off at the park at 11:30 in the afternoon. It was crazy windy but I toughed it out, even though I'm really sick. Worked mostly legs though. Bounds, precisions, flat ground flips. Lots of powerful running and jumping.

Then at around 3:30 I ate some food and headed to the gym where I hit the tumble track a bit to work some new flips, and then to the floor to work on my side flip out of a roll. More devastating stuff to my legs! =P

Then when I got to my second gym, I worked my b-twist more and then told my friends about my roll to side flip... then they wanted to see it. So I did it more so they could do it to. Needless to say my legs got no break today. So much running and jumping I thought I was just going to fall apart! =P

Its good though. I need to be strong and that is how I'll do it!
