Day 261 - Wednesday (Part 2) 4th of July

It started to get stormy here and as I finished up a build project at my gym/home, I walked outside after propping a door open, breathed in the rainy air, and reenergized my attitude for more training.

There was like 5 new flow moves I wanted to work on so I did.

I pushed my distance on my quad steps to 7 feet between each step, split by 4 feet. It took everything I had to barely make it through, but I did it. Helluva work out!

Then I worked more flow. Focused on being light and smooth on the stuff I almost had. Then I moved on to being innovative with flow. Trying to think of ways to move that others may not have thought of, and I had an amazing session. SO FUN!

Day 264 - Saturday

Better day! Played around on the set we set up for the live performance. Nothing crazy, but it was definitely fun to test all the stuff. Lots of heavy lifting today. Legs took a beating. =P

Day 265 - Sunday

Good day for sure! Played around at the set a bit again today. Then got back and worked some more interesting flow moves. Finally, ended the session with working on my set for my front flips. Vinnie saw I was having difficulty so he came and worked with me on them. Made a good deal of progress in a short amount of time.

This is a very unfortunate announcement I have to make; Some of you may be familiar with my knee problems of late. My right knee has had a torn meniscus that I had to go to the hospital for earlier this week. Once I learned of my options on how to heal the problem (since I cannot afford surgery) I had decided to leave my gym in Vegas temporarily to go home and rest and rehab my knee in hopes to avoid further injury and surgery which I cannot afford. However, I had to host the sleep over event this weekend before I could go home. During this event, I was helping move a ramp despite my already injured knee. Unfortunately, fate had shown its ugly side and decided that the very heavy ramp would slip from our fingers and land directly on my bad knee. Due to the extreme pain I am now experiencing as well as a loss of range of movement in my right leg, I have decided to step away from my 365 journey to focus on trying to salvage my knee. I thank everyone for all the endless support they have given me through this journey, and my heart is with every one of my 365 brothers and sisters who are pushing forward. I love you all.

REHAB UPDATE:

Things are going very well! I'm back in Lake Havasu, AZ (My home town) for my rehab. So Jeremy is up in LAs Vegas working at the gym all alone =( but I will be back in no time. I have been exclusively training handstands, explosive upper body conditioning, and bars. My knee is starting to feel great! No more brace! Walking isn't an inconvenience anymore either. I can start to jump and run pretty well again so things are coming along. I even went out and did a couple of flips outside for a bit!

So, I'm thinking in another month or so I should be back to my old self, ready to go level up with my old brothers and sisters!

I miss training like the old days so much!

REHAB UPDATE:

So I started throwing tricks again. I've been conditioning a bit more and my knees are starting to feel a bit better. I can flip and flow, but the hardest thing for me at the moment is precisions (which makes sense).

For those of you who might not know, I have a torn meniscus.

A torn meniscus is sort of like a c shaped gasket sort of thing which your knee uses to help distribute impact and weight and all that jazz. With a large tear in my menisci I have trouble taking the impact. So, with that said, as long as my momentum continues forward instead of hitting my knees head on, I can withstand moves with relatively no pain. The ONLY thing that hurts is standing flips and precisions. Anything that uses momentum feels pretty decent.

However, I am adapting my landing style to better suit my needs so even precisions are starting to become do-able again for me.

Great progress lately! Very happy!

REHAB UPDATE:

Got my bike fixed so I started riding again today! Super convenient for me since now I have an easy access way to make sure Im getting a good workout for my knees every other day.

Also, had a gym night tonight! Threw all my flips tonight. Some were rusty, but I threw them enough until they felt a bit more comfortable. Once I got them all back I started working on some new tricks. I ended up getting my palm side on the 3rd try and then threw some attempts at an inward side. It feels amazing to make REAL progress again.

For those who might become injured and have a big hill to overcome, I say this; keep pushing. Your life, your love and your movement are worth it.

Good luck to those who are in the same boat as I. <3

REHAB UPDATE:

Things are going great! The last week or so I haven't been doing actual parkour but my conditioning has been REALLY stepping up. Ive been going on very long bike rides and hill sprints. My yoga and weight lifting is almost every night now and growing in intensity.

I'm also heading to Phoenix on the 7th for a jam at the ASU campus that I have put together. It should be a pretty awesome event if I DO say so myself =)

Hopefully see you all there! Here is the link!

I was following your 365 for a while and it made me really sad when you got injured. That new video is epic, though! Seriously impressive, it's great to see that you were able to recover.
