rolling on different surfaces
« on: October 07, 2011, 06:15:13 AM »
what would you guys rate the hardness of the surfaces to roll in such as concrete, gym floor, tile floor, grass, carpet, etc. from softest to hardest. try to include as many as you can. this could help improve progressions for peoples rolls. im currently rolling on tile floor, but don't know if its harder than concrete. i know it might be preference but just tell me your preference

I think you also have to take into account how rough the ground is, concrete with rocks embedded in it is certainly harder to roll on than just plain concrete, and concrete itself can very greatly in smoothness from a road to a sidewalk to the inside of a building

I think that sand is the softest with those disabled paths with bumps in them being the most painful.

Just my experience :p

Gym mat, sand, grass, soft dirt, Packed dirt, smooth concrete, hard wood, bumpy roadish concrete. That is what I have found through about 80,000 rolls on various surfaces.
