So I've hit a snag in my training
« on: October 04, 2011, 05:46:24 PM »
So, I have been training wall runs for a while and I have a 12 foot wallrun, but I'm having trouble with two things.
1) I've noticed on higher walls, I only get one hand up, so I end up slipping and hurting my hand. How can I train myself to bring my other hand up without it messing up my wallrun?
2) Once I actually get into the cat position, I'm usually stuck. How do I climb up without frantically kicking against the wall?

1) It's all just mental. You usually only get a tiny bit higher on wallruns if you use one hand. It's probably more of a technique issue and seeing as how I don't have a video to see what your doing then I can't really help much there.

2) More upper body strength training. Work on getting some good muscle-ups.
Be responsible with your body. You will have it for all of your life. Make it a strong tool. Like bamboo, give it strength, but flexibility. Like water, give it flow, but power. -Adam McC

1) Probably just start getting in the habit of bringing the second hand up as soon as the first gets up there.

Thanks to both of you, your advice helps. Thanks especially for the tutorial, his tutorials are my favorite. I learned my wall run because of his tutorial.
